When I left home in August to embark on my last fall semester as a college student, I was stoked.
Fall semester is filled with so many amazing events that have become some of my fondest memories: syllabus week, cougar football Saturdays, homecoming, hallo-week, date dashes, the Apple Cup. The list goes on and on.
I have been having so much fun this semester I didn't even notice that it will soon come to an end in a few short weeks.
Closing in on the end of the fall semester, I have experienced a roller coaster of emotions. Of course, I have a whole other semester to experience, but that will be my last semester, ever.
I don't know if I am ready for that. With that, here are the 10 phases of being a senior closing in on the end of the fall semester:
1. Leaving your house to go start your senior year after the longest three months of your life like:
2. It's your last Preference Day of recruitment ever, and you can't help the waterworks:
3. It's syllabus week, you're 21, and you have been deprived of your favorite bars for too long:
4. As a senior, all of your classes have to do with your major. Going to class actually interests you now so you walk in like:
5. It's been about a month and you realize that being in all 400 level classes will be the death of you:
6. It's hallo-week, and you used to live for this. As fun as it still is, you barely reach the last day like:
7. It's almost Thanksgiving break, and you realize all of your procrastination has caught back up to you:
8. It's your last home football game as a college student, ever. You were not emotionally prepared for this:
9. Finals week, this is how you feel at the end:
10. Finals are over, it's time to go home for winter break. You realize that when you come back in January, it will be the last time. Like the flip of a switch, you turn into the mushy, gushy senior you were trying to avoid:
Through all the emotions and the fact that you only have one more semester as a college senior, it's okay...
...because your last semester is going to be the best one yet.
