That's right, the holiday season is officially here, meaning it's time for all other fun holiday events to commence. From crazy fun meet-ups with old friends all the way to the tedious workplace and family events that you wish that you had called in sick for instead- it all happens during this holiday season. Don't worry because "Friends," will be there for you- especially if 2016 hasn't exactly been your year.

1. Unrealistic Expectations

This night was supposed to be amazing and there were going to be a ton of amazing holiday foods and memorable conversations. Of course, it's kind of like expecting Santa and having the holiday armadillo show up to your apartment instead.

2. Trying To Fit In After Being At College

Apparently yelling "party FOUL!!" at Uncle Mike for dropping his drink is totally inappropriate and how were you supposed to know that this event required heels? It's hard trying to pretend you have your life together when last night you couldn't choose between sleeping on the floor and putting clean sheets on your bed.

3. Being Asked About Your Love Life

This is officially the worst question ever. No, it's fine my status on Facebook couldn't be demoted any lower than single because there is yet an option for actively planning to live alone with 20 cats and a tub of ice cream.

4. Trying To Comfort An Emotional Friend

It's supposed to be a holiday event, but someone always ends up emotional and in tears. Trying to comfort someone is extremely difficult; especially if that person is your childhood friend trying to convince herself to quit her job and just live life as a traveler. NO love, definitely not an option and I'm sorry for only adding to your tears right now

5. When You Find Someone Cute

How do I do this again? Is it smile at them directly and then look away or is it wink and then pretend you're not interested? All of this was so much easier in college. How do normal people do this? Why is this person so cute? Where is the food at this party? So many good questions and so little time.

6. You Try To Show Off A Weird Talent

You're parents have been dying to brag about you all year and now that you exist within their grasp- talent shows are a must. It's time to back up their unjustified confidence in you and your super odd party talent will only make them question why they are sending you to college in the first place.

7. When You Have A Moment Of Honesty

NO!!! You were so close to having a good night and then that one person who you absolutely cannot stand decided to talk to you and throw-off your entire night. You fell for the bait and are now officially guilty about this conversation until this time next year.

8. Defending Your Major To Family Members Like...

It's a great major! Some people will always be unhappy with your choices, unfortunately, your need to somehow seem right about the direction of your life overwhelms you into creating an impromptu presentation about how amazing you and your future career path are.

9. Being Reminded Of Why You Don't See Someone Anymore

They seemed totally fine at first and you couldn't remember why you both stopped talking. Then randomly within the conversation you remember why and it's as if you are staring at a completely different person and are desperate for an escape.

10. Realizing Home Squad Has Your Back

These friends may give you the hardest time and be your biggest critics, but they are always down to get into any kind of trouble for you. These people are the real reason you ended up coming home for the holidays.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
