10 Songs You Should Listen To
The Sickest

I realize I write a lot of these. But there is a lot of music that I love and a lot of music that I feel the need to share with everyone. If you're my fiance, you've probably heard all of these on repeat whenever I hijack the car radio or we use my car. I don't apologize for being passionate about my music though. Some of the songs below are new ones I've recently found and some are older songs that I've rediscovered on accident or by sheer luck of the shuffle option on my iPod. For your convenience, I have attached Youtube videos for every song.

1. Patchwork Love- As It Is

Okay., the newest album by As It Is features this song. The song talks about the struggle of mental illness while being in a relationship. The lyrics talk about how the narrator’s other half no longer loves them. The narrator has changed for the worse and doesn’t feel as though their S.O. should stay with them anymore. This song hits home for me a lot sometimes. Especially on my bad mental health days.

Lyrics: "And I won't let you waste everything you are on me. I know that all you love about me is who I used to be ."

2. Too Shy To Scream- AFI

Coming from their album Crash Love, this is one of my all-time favorite AFI songs. This is a song about being in love with someone who doesn’t notice you. This was the first song I heard from this album years ago. I kind of forgot about it until a few weeks ago when it came up on shuffle. I still knew every single word.

Lyrics: “I’d die if you only met my eyes before you pass by. Will you pause to break my heart?”

3. Tiny Heart- Flyleaf

Off the album, Memento Mori, this song has been interpreted two ways by various people. This is either about looking for the love of God or speaking to a lover that the narrator must leave. This song is one of my favorites by Flyleaf and I think that it always will be. Not to mention that I’ve always just loved Lacey’s voice.

Lyrics: "Your lips touched every hand but mine. If you choose me, I'm waiting for you."

4. Down- Ghost Town

This is probably my favorite Ghost Town song ever. My first experience with Ghost Town came from my first year at Warped Tour when I was walking through the crowd. A guy walked up to me and handed me a fan and said that I should go watch them. I never did manage to go see their show that year and I later found out that the guy was actually Kevin Ghost the lead singer.

Lyrics:"I give up on you cuz you gave up on me. If you kept your word this wouldn't be, this wouldn't be eating me alive ."

5. Start Again- Alive Like Me

Alive Like Me is a band that I discovered when I was going through the lineup for Warped Tour two or three years ago. I found one of their songs on Youtube and then proceeded to purchase their album off iTunes. I never got a chance to see them play live as they weren’t at my Warped Tour date. Sadly, the band announced their breakup last year.

Lyrics:"And I don't think I'll feel okay if this ends with misery. But it's just another chance that I'm willing to take tonight hoping that.. this would be easier

6. Floral & Fading – Pierce The Veil

This song makes me more and more excited to see Pierce The Veil in a few weeks every time I listen to it. It is my designated first song to play in the car every car ride. I have it set up on my iPod to easily find it. This song is fun to sing along to and overall, just really good.

Lyrics: "I want devil horns. I wanna breathe in your rush. I wanna leap when you want me to fly. But darlin' I don't mean to beg, but these thorns on the stem are nearly tearing up my skin."

7. Time Is Money- You Me At Six feat. Winston McCall

This is an older You Me At Six song, but recently become one of my favorites. This is from their album Sinners Never Sleep which came out in 2011. The song features Winston McCall who is the lead singer of Parkway Drive.

Lyrics: "If you were so amidst, why do you break every promise? With everything that you say, I take a picture of what happens around me. "

8. Hypnotized - Set It Off

I may have already told you all about this song, but it still continues to be one of my favorites off their album Upside Down. This is an angry song and a little faster paced than I'm used to with Set It Off. However, it's a hard-hitting song to listen to when you are pissed off at someone.

Lyrics: "I heard you been lyin’ and tryin’ to shit on my name talkin’ behind my back. You should never expect the best to rest instead you’re spewin’ that bullshit!"

9. Second And Sebring- Of Mice & Men

I realize this is an older song for them, but I recently heard it for the first time and have been obsessed with it ever since. I really love Shayley's voice and often times wish that he were still in the band. Nothing against Aaron, but Shayley's clean vocals are godly.

Lyrics: "This is not what it is, only baby scars. I need your love like a boy needs his mother's side."

10. Low Light- Dayshell

Speaking of Shayley Bourgot, this is the band he is in now. I just recently started to listen to Dayshell. This was the first song I heard and I am definitely going to enjoy listening to and experiencing this band more and more.

Lyrics: "I've known forever that you long for me, but the misinformation lead the way I see you caught in a bottle and I wanna lie. I can't deny I'm trouble tonight."

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
