This past weekend, my roommate and I decided to spontaneously drive all the way to Tampa for the day for a concert. The concert was held at the University of South Florida (GO BULLS!) and was completely free and open to the public. This was not just any concert, this lineup included Mayday Parade, which is my favorite band of all time, The Maine, and New Politics. Not only was the concert absolutely amazing and so worth the drive, but it brought back some old times that I miss. Going to Warped Tour every summer, which I still do, and rocking out at music festivals like Bamboozle are some of the greatest memories I have as a teenager. Some of you may be thinking "WOW The Maine, I remember them," while you're listening to all of the current songs on the radio. For some, these type of bands are old news and were left in your middle or high school days. But for many others like me, these artists are still very much apart of my daily jam sessions in my car or shower. Punk, alternative, rock, whichever type of music you consider it, you can't help but admit that these bands will always have a special place in your heart. In honor of all of these great artists, here are ten songs that will forever be classics.
1. Jersey - Mayday Parade
Not just because I'm from New Jersey.
2. Dear Maria, Count Me In - All Time Low
You can count me in for any All Time Low concert.
3. Check Yes Juliet - We The Kings
I check yes for Travis Clark.
4. Ocean Avenue - Yellowcard
Roll all of your windows down and jam out to this song.
5. Everything I Ask For - The Maine
This song is everything I've asked for.
6. I Write Sins Not Tragedies - Panic! At The Disco
Because the music video will always interest me in a weird way.
7. All The Small Things - Blink-182
It's Blink, any of their songs are classics.
8. The Anthem - Good Charlotte
Just love me Joel.
9. Welcome To The Black Parade - My Chemical Romance
WE'LL CARRY ON, WE'LL CARRY ON!
10. Perfect - Simple Plan
None of us are perfect!
