I hate finals week. Who doesn't? I have found, however, that listening to music helps me immensely. It gets my mind off things and makes me feel more relaxed. Here are some songs that I have found to help me when I am feeling overly stressed and anxious about my tests--whether it be because they are lowkey and calm me down, or because they pump me up and get ready to tackle my tests.

1. Mess Is Mine -- Vance Joy

"Hold on, my darling. This mess was yours, now your mess is mine."

2. Jesus Take the Wheel -- Carrie Underwood

"Jesus take the wheel. Take it from my hands. 'Cause I can't do this on my own."

3. Out of the Woods -- Taylor Swift

"Are we out of the woods yet... are we in the clear yet?"

4. Saltwater Gospel -- Eli Young Band

"I'm in heaven watchin' all these waves roll in. When I'm lost I know where to get found again."

5. Waiting for Superman -- Daughtry

"She's talking to angels, counting the stars. Making a wish on passing cars."

6. My Wish -- Rascal Flatts

"My wish, for you, is that this life becomes all that you want it to. Your dreams stay big, your worries stay small. You never need to carry more than you can hold."

7. Brand New -- Ben Rector

"Never thought I'd feel like this. Like when I close my eyes, and don't even care if anyone sees me dancing. Like I can fly, and don't even think of touching the ground."

8. Comeback Kid -- The Band Perry

"'Cause I'm a comeback, I'm a comeback kid. Don't know why bad things happened, but they did. I don't think I deserve the hurt I get, but I'm made for it. It's not the end, no, it's not the end."

9. What a Wonderful World -- Louis Armstrong

"The colors of the rainbow, so pretty in the sky. Are also on the faces, of people going by."

10. I'll Be There For You -- The Remembrandts

"I'll be there for you, 'cause you're there for me too."

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.
