One of my favorite things to do is listen to music, and I think this is an affinity that many people share with me. I thought it would be fun to share some of the tracks that I can’t stop listening to with you all this week. Who knows? Maybe you’ll find your new shower anthem in this list!
1. “Magnets”- Disclosure ft. Lorde
When I first heard Lorde a couple of years ago, I fell in love instantly. Recently, I have really been into Disclosure as well, so I was so excited when this collaboration came out. For me, it’s catchy and dark and wonderful and on replay. I love it.
2. “Breakin’ A Sweat”- Skrillex ft. The Doors
I totally recommend jamming to this while you are walking to class. It puts some pep in your step and makes you want to high-five everyone you walk past.
3. “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going”- Jennifer Hudson
It is literally impossible for me to listen to this song without singing dramatically into a hairbrush in front of the mirror. The girl’s got pipes. I’m just trying to show my appreciation.
4. “Stressed Out”- Twenty One Pilots
I love Twenty One Pilots because their songs have depth. This song is funky enough to dance around your room to, but deep enough to make you reflect on life when you’re laying in bed at night. Personally, that’s my favorite type of song.
5. “You’ll Find A Way”- Santigold (Switch + Sinden remix)
This song is absolutely incredible. There is no way for me to describe it other than mind-blowing and life-changing. I like to listen to this while I’m working out because it makes me feel like I can kick some serious bahookey.
6. “Country Grammar”- Nelly
I have the biggest crush on Nelly and I have no idea why. Regardless, his throwback tunes bring on feelings of nostalgia and instant happiness for me. They don’t make ‘em like him anymore if you ask me.
7. “Tom’s Diner”- Giorgio Moroder ft. Britney Spears
This song is insanely catchy. Five bucks says you’ll be singing the little diddy at the beginning all day.
8. “In Time”- FKA Twigs
I love Twigs and how fearless and original she is with her music. She is truly one-of-a-kind.
9. “Writing’s On The Wall”- Sam Smith
Sam Smith and James Bond. Need I say more?
10. “Lost Boys”- The 1975
I love anything by The 1975, and after listening to their only album hundreds of times, I sometimes like to listen to their songs that they made under other band names years ago. This is one of my favorites, and as with all of their music, it makes me think about the world and my own thoughts. It may seem strange, but that is something I thoroughly enjoy finding in music.
If you give any of these songs a listen, let me know what you think! I would love to hear some of your current favorites as well. Have fun, dudes!
