Maybe you know them!

I realize that these most definitely aren’t the time-tested, unequivocal, no doubt best song lyrics of all time. There’s really entire eras and genres of music that I’m not including or don’t know about myself. That said, these are songs that I’ve listened to anywhere from junior high to last night and I picked out my favorite lyrics in them. I only found videos that listed the lyrics because I think music videos can sometimes take away from the lyrics and the original meaning of the song, but that's just me.

1. "Rivers and Roads" - The Head and the Heart

“Nothing is as it has been, and I miss your face like hell.”

I know that I’ve already mentioned this song in one of my articles before, but it is so good. It always reminds me of my hometown and my high school friends and makes me sad in a great way.

2. "Do I Wanna Know?" - Arctic Monkeys

“Have you no idea that you’re in deep? I dreamt about you nearly every night this week.”

This song has the best beat to it and the lyrics are great if you can catch them.

3. "A Part of Me" - Neck Deep

"I like her ‘cause she’s smart, headstrong, and independent. She puts me in my place, but I don’t know where I stand."

I doubt many have heard this song before. I must say that this band isn’t for everyone, but they have some great music.

4. "Serial Killer" - Lana Del Rey

“If I pray really tight, get into a fake bar fight while I’m walking down the avenue.”

I will admit that I am a biased source because Lana is one of my favorite artists. That said, this is one of her less known songs and it’s become one of my favorites.

5. "Jargon" - Lil Wayne

"How can we ruin something so perfect so fluent?"

This song is out of left field for sure. I don’t even remember how I heard it but I set it as my alarm for about four years.

6. "You Could Be Happy" - Snow Patrol

“Take a glorious bite out of the whole world.”

Again, I do not know where I heard this song originally, but it was on of my go-tos during my angsty junior high years.

7. "Glitter in the Air" - P!nk

“Have you ever wished for an endless night, lassoed the moon and the stars and pulled that rope tight?”

This one I heard while I was in and out of consciousness on the bathroom floor, waiting to see if I would get sick again or feel better after my first day of junior high. That’s a whole other story...

8. "The Ballad of Me and My Brain" - The 1975

“Well I think I’ve gone mad, isn’t that so sad? What a shame, you’ve lost the brain that you never had.”

This has to be my favorite 1975 song. Not by much because A Change of Heart and If I Believe You are up there too. But, this is the opener to this song and it gets me every time.

9. "Drops of Jupiter" - Train

“Now that she’s back in the atmosphere with drops of Jupiter in her hair. She acts like summer and walks like rain, reminds me that there’s a time to change.”

If you don’t like this song, you’re lying. No matter how hard anyone might try not to sing along, everyone does. If it catches you in a bad mood, you might even tear up, or maybe that’s just me.

10. "Last Kiss" - Taylor Swift

“And I hope the sun shines and it’s a beautiful day, and something reminds you, you wish you had stayed. You can plan for a change in the weather and time, but I never planned on you changing your mind.”

Taylor Swift’s old stuff never gets old. Some people don’t like this song so much because it’s pretty slow, but I’ve always loved it because of these lyrics.

There they are, ten songs whose lyrics that I love. Maybe you found something that you like, and maybe you didn’t. That’s the beauty of music taste.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
