I have 4 favorite characters in The Walking Dead. Unfortunately, one of my favorite characters is no longer with the show. He moved on to do movies. One my favorite characters is Daryl Dixon played by Norman Reedus. The second favorite character is Merle Dixon played by Michael Rooker. The third favorite character is Carl Grimes played by Chandler Riggs. And my final favorite character is Rick Grimes played by Andrew Lincoln. Now, Daryl and Merle are brothers in the show. Originally in the comic book, Daryl was not a character in the comic book. After he did an audition, the director and creator of the show decided to make a character for Norman. Carl and Rick are father and son in the show and you can feel the compassion between them as father and son. I am going to talk about these characters on an individual level and what made them into who they are. In this article, I am going to talk about why I like Carl Grimes. What made Carl Grimes into the young man he is? These are the ten items that made him into who he is.

Learning that his dad was shot. In season one, Carl is told that his dad Rick Grimes was shot when his mom Lori Grimes picks him up from school.

Thinking that his dad was dead. When the apocalypse hit, both Carl and Lori were told by Rick’s partner Shane that Rick had passed on.

Getting his dad back. In the episode “Tell it to the frogs,” the group returns from Atlanta with Rick with them. Carl is the first one to see Rick and he yells out “Dad.” And runs to him full speed and cries into him.

Losing his father figure. After Rick returns, Lori tells Shane to not get anywhere near Carl again. Because she’s upset over what Shane did when they were at the CDC.

Being shot by a hunter and almost dying. In season 2 episode 2 titled “Bloodletting” Carl is shot by a hunter. They end up at a farm house. There Carl fights to stay alive. He ends up getting 3 transfusions from his dad to keep him alive. Carl ends up having internal bleeding and ends up having a seizure out of the blue.

Having to put down his mom after she died giving birth. In season 3 on the 4th episode of the season titled “The killer within”. Carl had to kill his mother after she died from having his sister Judith. She had begun to re-animate and he had to shoot her.

Having to put up with his dad’s emotional ness. After his mother was killed, Rick began a downward spiral. The begun in season 3 on the 4th episode. And after that, it caused Carl to have to grow up quickly.

Watching people die. From the very beginning, Carl was exposed to the harsh truth that everything is not kittens and rainbows. The world he knew was changing. His father figure, his mother, his friends, and his love interest were all gone.

Getting shot in the eye. In season 6 on the 9th episode, Alexandria is over run with walker and they have to fight. Rick kills a boy who is losing his grip in reality to save the group. By doing this, Carl gets shot in the eye. The scene where he was shot in the eye follows the comic book exactly.

Possibly meeting his end by Lucille. At the end of season 6, we are introduced to Neagan and his barbwire wrapped bat named Lucille. At the end of the episode, Neagan has the survivors in a line and he’s doing a twisted “ennie meenie minny mo”. The scene shows him bouncing around. So you do not know who is going to be killed by Lucille.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
