Of course you have best friends from back home, but you're college best friend is something that you share that unique college experience with. You're experiencing freedom for the first time, and this is the person you work through becoming an adult with.

1. Their door is the first you you go to after class to hang out.

2. When you want to do something, they’re who you call.

3. You have each other’s schedules memorized, so you know when they will reply to your texts.

4. Your adventures get more sporadic, like a midnight Wal-Mart run or drive around the lake.

5. You both go on your weekend trips home.


6. You start planning your schedules around each other.

7. It gets to the point where if you aren’t at your place, you’re at their place.

8. You move in together!

9. You live together, do everything together, yet you still don’t get sick of them.

10. The ultimate sign is that you become them, and they become you.

Your college best friend is one that gets a completely unbiased perspective of you. They don't know all of your horrendous childhood stories, unless you want to share it with them. They can see you for who you want them to see you as. This is one of the best relationships you with make in your first two decades on this earth, value it more than you think you should.
