10 Signs You've Found Your Best Friend In College

Like most soon-to-be college students, I had an outrageously unrealistic fear of not making friends once I got to school. People told me over and over again how it's literally impossible not to stay friendless in college because everyone's in the same boat. I didn't believe it the first three days of school considering the only people I talked to were my weird roommate and the security guard at my building.

That all changed, however, when my next-door neighbor walked into my room, sat on my bed and just started talking.

It was a 'friendship at first sight' moment considering we're now roommates and as inseparable as they come. She's the perfect example of what a best friend should be, so here are some signs that you've found yours:

1. She doesn't judge you for how much you eat - probably because she's the one calling Dominos at 2 a.m.

2. She's someone you can trust to always be brutally honest, even when it hurts.

3. People know to watch out for you both because when you're together there's almost always trouble.

4. She lets you lay in her bed with her even though she hates all forms of physical contact.

5. There's no one else you'd rather go out, dance and be your weird self with.

6. You hate being apart, even if it's just while she's in class for an hour.

7. It's always such a huge deal when you're reunited that people can hear you screaming from across campus.

8. She's your number one fan, partner in crime, up-for-anything person.

9. Whether it's grocery shopping or sitting in traffic, you're guaranteed to laugh your head off together.

10. She shows you the true meaning of friendship and how you can't picture life without her.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
