Are you constantly feeling overwhelmed and overloaded with work? Between going to class, your part time job and the millions of activities you are involved in, who has time to stop and smell the roses? Perhaps you are over-involved. If this sounds like you, then it's time to stop and take a break from your busy life.
1. There is not enough time in the day
You are constantly scrambling for time. It seems that 24 hours is not enough anymore; your day needs to be closer to 72 hours (and even that may not cut it).
2. You are constantly on the go
Class, school, work, meeting, class, meeting, work… You are spinning in circles and when you have any free time, you use that for homework. Isn’t that what free time is for?
3. You never say no
You never turn down a challenge, but it may be time to let someone else do the dirty work for a change.
4. You have forgotten the definition of fun
What is fun? I have fun! I mean I don’t remember the last time I went out to a party or went out with friends that weren't for a meeting, but still I have fun.
5. You are the very definition of busy
Ha! You know the very definition of busy and laugh when someone explains how busy he or she is. I mean, who can compete with you?
6. Sleep has become a dream
You have hit the point where sleeping is a luxury. A luxury that you no longer seem to have--in fact, as much as you may hate to admit it, you often enjoy sleeping over being awake.
7. Your parents are worried about you
The rare moments you call your parents on the phone consist of your mother telling you maybe it's time to take a break and cut out some activities. Is the "staring at the grass" club really worth being in? What does she know, right? I mean, you are the president of it.
8. You can’t remember the last time you did something for yourself
What about me? I don’t know what I want anymore. Even if I did, who has the time for that?
9. Your weekends are just as busy as your week
Everyone wishes you a happy Friday or tells you to have a good weekend. What does that mean anymore? Aren’t weekends just an extension of the week, but filled with more work just without the class part?
10. You are starting to think this list sounds exactly like you, but you won’t admit to it
Being involved is great! It is important to be involved, but there is a fine line between being involved and going insane. So this week try to carve out some time for yourself and enjoy living life. After all, you only get to live it once.
