1. The Fountain is a trademark.
The fountain is a trademark for any student on campus. Whether it is running through the water as a freshman, or sitting on the grass in the springtime, this is a must spot to be for Indiana State students.
2. Larry Bird is still the pride of the University.
Yes, it may have been over 35 years ago. The fact still remains that Larry Bird's legacy is the heart and pride of the Sycamore athletics to this very day.
3. George's Cafe is life.
A day without George's food is a day wasted. That sweet, little old man is what sets Indiana State apart from all the rest. Don't argue, you know its true.
4. The lack of parking.
Heaven forbid there be a single parking spot available on the entire campus. Don't count on getting to class on time, due to the fact you'll have to park in B.F.E.
5. You know what "The Walk" is.
Whether an onlooker or a drunken participant, "The Walk" is well-renown in the fall. Once homecoming rolls around, break out the Sperry's and sunglasses and get walking.
6. Trains are inevitable.
Arguably the worst thing, you know you go to school here when you run into a train literally, every single day of your life.
7. You aren't 100 percent sure what Sycamore Sam is.
A fox? A woodland creature? Just some blue animal? Who knows what exactly Sycamore Sam is, is beyond me, but he sure brings the school spirit!
8. Your hatred of Sodexo
Breakfast, lunch and dinner. Freshmen year of having Sodexo every meal is enough to run anyone to an utter hatred of the food offered in the dining halls on campus. Trust me, it will happen.
9.) You take pride in going to a school that excels in community service.
The one thing we are best at in the nation! Odds are you do your fair share of community service attending school here. Might as well be proud of the title, right? Maybe not, but if you go here, you're volunteering anyway.
10. You're proud to be a Sycamore.
Despite everything else, you are extremely proud to be a Sycamore! Representing your university and preparing yourself for the real world is a matter of pride. Remember, it's a great day to be a Sycamore! BLEED BLUE!
