You don’t know what music obsession is unless you can relate to these 10 signs:
1. You’re the only one that realizes a new song uses a sample of an old one.
“Did you hear that noise in the background of that song? I swear that’s from an older song.” You know so much music so well that you can recognize that the beat of a new song is sampled from a song that came out in the early 2000’s.
2. When you get overly annoyed that people are talking during a song you want to show them.
People don’t understand that when you are showing them a song there needs to be complete silence. They’re not going to understand why you love it if they can’t allow their undivided attention.
3. When someone asks what your favorite genre is and you can’t give them an answer
Your friends don’t understand how your answer can be “I like rap, country, R&B, rock, just everything.” There will never be just one answer… sorry.
4. When someone tells you they don’t really listen to music and you feel personally offended.
Are you kidding me?! How do you go through your day? Drive a car? Take a shower? How do you function without music?
5. When you play a throwback that no one remembers but you
You become appalled. How dare they not remember early 2000s RnB it was the best and you’re still obsessed with it
6.You’re most known for your love of music
When your friends tell you that one of your best qualities is your taste in music you may have a problem. Or do you? That’s an awesome thing to be known for. Plus you already know your taste in music is the best.
7. You have a playlist for everything
Going to a country concert? Rap concert? Having a Bonfire? Going to the beach? Just hanging out? Doing homework? Getting ready for the bar? Getting a shower? No problem. You have a playlist for all of these situations plus many many more. Why? Because everything needs a playlist
8. You can jump from one genre to another with no problem.
Start off by listening to Future, get to Maroon 5, end up at Panic At The Disco, somehow stumble upon Hannah Montana, find a George Strait song, then you end at old country music. No one understands how you can listen to such a wide arrangement of music except yourself.
9. Losing your headphones is your worst nightmare
Walking to class without head phones is the worst thing you can think of. If you do anything by yourself you can only enjoy it with the company of your headphones. Without them life just feels miserable.
10. You cannot stand the radio.
Why would anyone want to sit in the car and listen to the same top twenty pop songs on repeat during the ride? If there’s no way to listen to music that’s not on the radio count me out.
