If you can relate to these 10 signs then odds are you are an introvert. Being an introvert is not bad it can just be difficult in college when everyone else is out partying and hanging out with big groups of friends. Don't worry many people are like this and maybe you can find someone else who can relate to you and these signs.

1. Orientation week was hell week.

As if starting at a completely new school where you don’t know anyone wasn’t stressful enough, now you have to go through a couple days of “getting to know me”. The only bonding you did during bonding exercises was with how much you didn’t want to be there.

2. You aren’t invited to all the parties, and that’s OK with you.

College is all about the parties, right? Well, not for you. You would definitely prefer to stay in your room and catch up on homework, or look at funny videos on Youtube. Some parties can be fun sure, but when you get tired after the first hour of being there, sometimes it’s just better to stay in for the night.

3. You have joined a club that you love and all of our friends are there.

Whether it’s photography club, dance club, or newspaper club, you absolutely love what you do and the friends that you have made there. Those friends are the ones you are really close with.

4. The library is your second dorm room.

If you aren’t hanging out in your dorm room you can most likely be found in the library, either studying or just fooling around on your computer.

5. You have taken walks around campus alone, just because you can.

It doesn’t matter what kind of campus your college has; sometimes just going for a nice walk alone is relaxing. You have also found all of the quiet spots on campus, other than the library of course, for studying purposes.

6. You stay up to date on all of your TV shows on Netflix.

What college kid doesn’t get hooked on Netflix? But you have plenty of time to watch all of your favorite shows, and maybe try a few new ones.

7. You have plenty of time to do all of your homework.

Even though, sometimes, you don’t. Hey, it’s the thought that counts, right?

8. You have a ton of food in your room.

Just in case you don’t feel up to going to the cafeteria to get food with a ton of people, you can just stay in your room and eat a well balanced meal of canned soup or Chef Boyardee.

9. Even though you always sit in the back, you are still really good at paying attention.

The back is where you are most comfortable, but you’re still really good at listening and taking down notes. You don’t just sit in the back to socialize.

10. You have made a few really close friends and they are the best friends you’ve ever had.

You and the people you have made friends with are super close and do everything together. You don’t need all the friends in the world, you only need them.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
