Having a best friend is similar to having a second version of yourself that always knows how to make you laugh and surprises you with the food you've been craving all day. Here are the ten signs you and your friend are BFFs.
1. Everyone knows you two are attached by the hip.
If one of us is out without the other, people will most definitely be asking where the "better half" is. We work together, go to the same school, live in the same town, and go to the same church. I've probably taken more naps in her bed than mine, TBH.
2. We know everything about each other.
My best friend always knows what I need to hear when I'm upset or having a bad day. I can bring up that time from that grad party three years ago, and she'll know exactly who I'm talking about.
3. Texting "IMY" after a day of being apart.
One day away from my BFF always seems to feel like a week. Sad.
4. Always asking for each other's advice.
Whether it's "Chipotle or Panera?" or "Political Science or Journalism?" my best friend always knows what's good for me, sometimes better than I do.
5. We live at each other's houses.
Walking into her house without knocking, going to the kitchen to grab a snack, and then treading up the stairs for a nap has never been so normal.
6. We share EVERYTHING.
OK, not everything--I think sharing deodorant is gross. But for the most part, we have the same style, and that means we share the same lipstick, tops, shoes, and hair products.
7. We take everything personally.
If someone's messing with my BFF that's personal to me, they'll be hearing from my lawyer.
8. People always mistake us for a lesbian couple.
Yes, I'm holding her hand. Yes, we look adorable. No, we're not a couple.
9. Personal space is a foreign concept.
Being this close with someone means everything is a partner activity, whether it be a bathroom run, changing clothes, or napping.
10. Our bond is forever and truly unbreakable.
Having a BFF means never leaving each other no matter what life throws at you. My best friends are one of my greatest blessings.
