Some people love summer, and other people just tolerate it. Some people love the beach, and other people just like to go to spend time with family and friends. Then there’s us, the people who worship the waves and fall in love with the sunshine, year after year. If you’re a true summer-loving, beach bum, you’ll relate to every single one of these…

1. You look forward to summer all year long.

Not just because of the break from school work or that family vacation, but because of the sheer vibes or summer. You love the warm weather, the late nights and the feelings that summer brings.

2. You start shopping for summer clothes in February and March.

You’re not the only one that shops Old Navy’s online clearance for shorts and tank tops when there’s still snow on the ground.

3. You wear shorts at the first sign of warm weather.

You don’t care if you freeze. When you stand in the sun, the weather slightly resembles summer, so you’re breaking out those shorts.

4. You paint your toenails as soon as you see the sun is consistently shining.

Because, you may need to wear flip flops soon, and you like to be prepared.

5. Buying a swimming suit is an important life decision for you.

Buying a swimming suit is a serious decision, and it requires a lot of thought. You’re the kind of person that would rather try on 50 suits and buy one, then just pick one off the rack and settle.

6. You believe that the beach is good for your soul.

A trip to the beach is more than a vacation to you. You worship the sun, through and through.

7. You wish you could move to the beach.

Remind me why I didn’t go to school near a beach, again?

8. You can’t imagine how someone could love the winter.

What’s good about being cold? Snow doesn’t make any sense to a summer lover.

9. You could sit on the beach all day long.

Why would someone want to do other things on vacation? The boardwalk is fun, but while the sun is shining, you should be laying in the sand with a good book, right?

10. You can’t help but smile when you talk about summer.

Is it weird to love a season more than you love most people?

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
