I had the incredible opportunity to study abroad in Rome, Italy in the spring of 2015. During my time abroad, I picked up a thing or two from the Italian culture. I have created a list of a few quirks that I have brought home with me, and I hope other can agree.
1. You are now a gelato snob.
I now refuse to eat gelato in the States because nothing can compare to the incredible, mouthwatering taste of true Italian gelato. A Gelateria knows whats best.
2. You randomly say Italian words/responses.
I am still responding with basic Italian words like, "arrivederci", "ciao", "sí", and "che cosa"!
3. You now use hand gestures, a lot.
The Italians do it best, and who better to learn from than the best?
4. What are pizza slices again?
Pizza in Italy comes uncut, or if you buy it per slice it definitely isn't a triangle. Also, pizza was invented in Italy, and the Italians have perfected the art.
5. Calcio (soccer) will never be the same
The fans=crazy. The level of play=incredible. The U.S. can't compete when it comes to soccer.
6. You have taken all forms of public transportation now.
Gondolas included.
7. You have a better appreciation for ancient ruins
They are breathtaking, and they contain so much history.8. You never want to see a Selfie-Stick vendor again
Selfie? Selfie? They are in herds, clogging the streets near monuments and museums. As soon as it rains though, they whip out umbrellas from nowhere!
9. Your legs are in killer shape
Stairs... endless stairs.... Also walking... walking everywhere...10. You are dying to go back.

I have made some of the best memories, friends, and adventures while studying abroad in Italy. I am dying to go back as soon as possible. Italy, thank you for the experience of a lifetime.
