- You fight like a married couple.
It’s hard deciding who’s going to shower first, when you’re going to eat and who is going to take out the trash. Every disagreement leads to bickering back and forth that can often last for minutes on end. By the end of it, you forget what you were arguing about to begin with.
2. You don’t like being separated.
Every time you’re separated it makes you feel anxious. Though you don’t mind being alone, you would much rather spend your time together. During winter break you constantly have to Skype each other because one month apart is just way too long. Even though you hate being separated, being reunited is such an awesome feeling.
3.There is no such thing as privacy.
You know everything about each other so there isn’t a need to keep anything private. If you’re on the phone, your roommate is in the background giggling. Your roommate knows that you failed your math test before you know you failed your math test. Basically, your roommate is more invasive than NASA, and you’re okay with that.
4.You’re basically the same person.
Sometimes, you’re convinced you were born twins and your parents just haven’t told you yet. Your telepathic tendencies often freak each other out. She knows you better than you know yourself. Though it might seem weird at first, you’ll find that it’s pretty cool to have a long lost twin.
5.You go on dates with each other.
I mean, let's face it; who else are you going to go to fancy dinners with? At any moment your roommate will be willing to go do a fun couple like activity with you. Which is awesome, because you will always have someone to do something with.
6. You feel guilty if you order food without them.
You share everything, including your food orders. If its 1 a.m. and you’re craving mac and cheese, then your roommate is probably craving it too. If you don’t order food together than you wind up giving your roommate half of your food anyway.
7. You’re a package deal.
People tell you it’s “weird” seeing the two of you apart. That’s because it is. From the moment you became roommates, you’ve be inseparable. Some people might think you’re constantly tagging along, but it’s more than that. When you’re always together, you can always have each other’s back.
8.Conversations usually start with “Remember that one time...”
Yes, you do remember that one time. You can even remember that one time before they finish their sentence. Every conversation you have includes at least three inside jokes. Sometimes you even forget that no one else understands your inside jokes.
9. Your parents love them.
Every time you talk to your parents they always ask you “How’s [insert roommates name here]." They often times seem more concerned with the well being of your roommate than they are with you.
10.You can’t imagine living with someone else.
Clearly, living apart is not an option. When you get married, your roommate will reluctantly have to live in the guest room. But you will still be together forever.
