10 Signs Your Best Friend Is Basically Another Sister
Caitlin Lawler

My best friend and I have been friends since the second grade. At this point she is basically my sister.

1) They wear your clothes when they come over your house

"Oh you still have that sweatshirt I lent you freshman year of high school? Not that I wanted it back or anything! "

2) Whenever you tell your parents " Hey (name of bestie) is coming over" they make a extra plate cause they are probably eating over

Me: " Hey mom Marissa is coming over"

Mom: "Ok ill set up an extra plate"

3) Your parents have become friends because your constantly hanging out

Considering my best friend and I are attached at the hip, our parents coached our little league softball team together when we were in 3rd grade. And on the holidays my parents ask " Hey are the Scialpi's coming over for christmas eve this year"

4) You tell them how it is

No sugar coating anything, If I look bad in a outfit she will tell me, and if her hair looks like a mess I will make sure she changes that before we go anywhere, were looking out for each other.

5) You fight

We're constantly together and she is complaining about the same things for months, omg get over it. You disagree on things its normal its life "I still love you no matter what, but your getting on my nerves"

6) They have seen you at your worse

Boys, Drama, Crying, Family issues... "Marissa I need you to come get me, Im breaking down in tears right now and I can't be here any longer" "Say no more I am on my way" You will drive miles and waste all your gas just to make sure your bestie is ok

7) You go to the bathroom with the door open at their house

If I can do it at my house I can do it at yours...considering this is my second home.

8) You show up to their house and walk right through the door

"You know there is a doorbell right"

"Yeah why would I use that, you know its me"

9) Your parents love them

Whenever I tell my mom " Hey marissa is coming over" She says " Oh my favorite daughter is coming over?"

10) You can go to them for anything

No matter how fed up you are with them, or anything you know that no matter what you can talk to them about everything and anything.. they know your deepest darkest secrets that no one else knows and it will stay that way forever. Cause you trust them with your life

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
