If you're anything like me, your favorite pass time is to binge watch shows on Netflix. If I get lucky enough to get a day off of work, my go-to activity is curling up in bed with my cats and binge watching about 30 episodes of whatever show I'm watching on Netflix. If you're unsure of what to watch, here is my list of shows that I suggest to everyone. Hopefully you find one that catches your interest!
1. "One Tree Hill"
Well, if you've read any of my previous articles, you'll know that this is my all time favorite show. I've only watched it about seven summers. It's what I do every single summer: binge watch the show. It's full of twists and turns, drama, sports, and everything else you can imagine. I've heard before from people that it's sort of unrealistic and over-dramatic, but clearly I disagree. If you want to watch a show that keeps you invested in the characters, this is the one for you!
2. "Gossip Girl"
Similar to "One Tree Hill," this show is full of drama. It's about what life is like on the Upper East Side in NYC. I'd suggest this show to girls, obviously. Yet again, it's full of twists, turns, drama, and more. It keeps you wondering what will happen next with each of the characters. If nothing else, you should watch it for the fashion statements!
3. "Grey's Anatomy"
I'm clearly into the drama-filled shows. There's more to this show than the drama, though. There are different situations that are interesting, especially if you're into anything medical. Crazy accidents with a lot of blood and gore might be enough to get you invested into this amazing TV series.
4. "Dexter"
Speaking of blood and gore, this show has more than enough of it. A show about a serial killer that makes you LIKE and SYMPATHIZE with the serial killer is a definite must watch...
5. "Orange is the New Black"
ATTENTION: MATURE ADULTS ONLY. With a lot of sexual content, this show is probably only appropriate for those that can handle it. This show is a Netflix series, and probably one of the best ones out there. Based on a somewhat true story about a young woman that ended up in a women's prison, this show is sure to keep you on the edge of your seat. There are heavy situations and it really makes you think about the kinds of situations that occur in prisons...even though the show is fictional!
6. "That 70's Show"
This show has been around for quite some time, and if you have yet to watch it, I highly suggest it. About a young group of friends living in the 70's, it's sure to make you laugh at every "circle" situation (segments of the teens smoking pot!)
7. "Friends"
Another show about a group of friends, this show is an all time classic. I wasn't sure about getting into this show at first because it never really seemed interesting, but I was wrong. The second I started watching, I fell in love with Rachel, Ross, Joey, Phoebe, Chandler, and Monica!
8. "The Office"
This is my current addiction. I'm almost done watching this show, and I can honestly say I've never laughed so hard at a show full of dry humor. Join the cult and get hooked on this show!
9. "The Killer Speaks"
This is probably a show that no one has heard of before being on Netflix. It's a series of only about eight episodes and it is a documentary type series. Each episode is designated to a murderer and they talk about their murder. It sounds extremely morbid, but it is extremely interesting to watch. Then again, that might just be me (a forensic psychology major).
10. "Death Row Stories"
Another documentary with each episode being designated to individual murder cases. If you hate the justice system, this show is sure to make you hate it more. It shows you all of the different situations in which the justice system made major mistakes involving the death sentence.
I really hope you watch at least one of these this summer! But if you have a real life, I completely understand...
