10 End Of Semester Struggles Every College Student Experiences

The end of the semester just plain sucks. Your whole life consists of riding the struggle bus. It's okay though, you're not alone.

1. As soon as you come home from class...

You're done. Professors talk too much and your brain is tired of trying to take in new information, leaving you only to fall to the floor as soon as you make it home.

2. Balancing your social life with studying is getting harder to do...

You've gone out Thursday, Friday, and Saturday instead of studying for your exams and doing homework. It's okay, you'll get it all done on Sunday right?

3. Sunday is for day drinking though...

It's that time of the year again. It's finally warm and all your friends are having people over to some burgers and beer. So naturally, you go too.

4. Monday hits and you're back to reality...

Anybody that comes near you stresses you out. Getting out of bed stresses you out. There's literally nothing that doesn't stress you out but you know this is mainly because of your poor weekend choices.

5. The lack of motivation is unreal...

When you finally get to actually doing some school work, you're doing a lot of it and all the while trying not to have a nervous breakdown. You read those books. (Try to at least).

6. What is sleep?

Coffee. It's the only thing keeping you going. It's your new best friend.

7. Sleeping in the library is fine...

It's become completely okay to sleep in public places. That ten minute nap may be the only sleep you get and you can sacrafice ten minutes of studying.

8. The food in your fridge is nonexistent...

You haven't even had time to buy food in a month or two. Now you're permanently hangry.

9. You don't have money for food...

Your bank account is most likely under $100, for some of us it's under $20, so you're settling with starving. Now more than ever you wish you were a freshman with a dining pass even though back then you hated the food.

10. When you finish your last final exam...

You're just glad it's all over with. You took the exam, which basically counts as passing right? It's summer now, who cares?!

11. First week of summer...

Finally you get to do as you please... relaxin'... eatin'... having a real good time... That is, until your summer classes start, your internship, or your summer job. For the lucky ones... you get to do all three of those.

New England Summers Are The BEST Summers

Why you should spend your next summer in New England.

Three years ago, I chose to attend college in Philadelphia, approximately 360 miles away from my small town in New Hampshire. I have learned many valuable lessons away from home, and have thoroughly enjoyed my time spent in Pennsylvania. One thing that my experience has taught me, however, is that it is absolutely impossible to beat a New England summer.

Yes, the math major is doing a math-related post. What are the odds? I'll have to calculate it later. Many people have probably learned about the Fibonacci sequence in their high school math classes. However, I thought I would just refresh everyone's memories and show how math can be beautiful and apply to physical things everywhere around us with stunning examples.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
