Seeing as August is National Sandwich Month and I live in Sandwich, Illinois, I figured I would share a list of some of the best sandwiches all tourists must try when passing through our quaint little town.

1. The Caramel Apple Burger - Bull Moose Bar & Grille ($10.99)

While this one is technically not a sandwich, it does make a name for itself. Voted the best burger in the Aurora area, the caramel apple burger consists of a classic burger topped with fresh apple slices, bacon, homemade caramel, and Swiss cheese on a toasted bun.

2. Chicken Pesto Panini Sandwich - Brenda's Frozen Custard ($6.50)

The chicken pesto panini is perfect for any person looking for a healthy option when eating out. This sandwich has grilled chicken, roasted peppers, mozzarella cheese, and homemade pesto sauce pressed into a panini. After enjoying this healthy choice, you deserve to treat yourself to a delicious scoop of custard.

3. The Steve - South Moon BBQ ($9.95)

If you love meat, then you'll love this sandwich. Brisket, pulled pork, and an entire brat is piled high on a toasted bun, layered with three different homemade sauces: Sweet St. Louis (a standard barbecue sauce), Sweet Heat (another barbecue sauce with a slight kick), and Bad Ass Brat Sauce (a mustard base sauce). With this sandwich, you're guaranteed to make a mess.

4. Western Burger - Old Tyme Inn ($6.50)

Yet another burger, but no less delicious. The western burger starts off with a classic beef burger topped with bacon, grilled onions, cheese, and barbecue sauce. And as a side note: all burgers are half off on Monday night. $3.25 for a burger? I'm there!

5. Godfather - Johnny K's ($6.49)

Apart from the strange name, this sandwich is to die for. Deliciously seasoned beef is topped with mozzarella cheese and sweet peppers, served on a buttered garlic bun.

6. Beef Roll - Gene's Pizza ($4.60)

This restaurant puts an interesting twist on the classic Beef Sandwich. Rather than being placed on a classic bun; beef, mozzarella cheese, green peppers, and onions are rolled up in fresh pizza dough and baked until golden brown.

7. Brisket Sandwich - Bull Moose Bar & Grille ($9.99)

Howard Wolowitz would fall in love with this sandwich. A grilled flatbread topped with smoked beef brisket, provolone cheese, and barbecue sauce.

8. Meatball Sandwich - Gonzo's Pizzeria ($6.75)

Oh, meatballs, you're so fine. You're so fine you blow my mind. Hey, meatballs! Hey, hey, hey meatballs! This sandwich is oh so simple but oh so delicious. Large meatballs, marinara sauce, and lots of cheese are topped on a warm toasted bun.

9. Italian Beef Sandwich - Johnny K's ($5.69)

Being as Italian Beefs originated from Illinois, it's only fitting to have one on this list. This sandwich starts off with a heaping mound of Italian beef which is then topped with caramelized onions and gooey cheese. A perfectly addicting meal.

10. Gyro Sandwich - Gene's Pizza ($4.60)

Drenched in delicious gyro sauce, perfect proportions of gyro meat, tomatoes, and onions are piled onto warm pita bread. And for the price, this sandwich is a steal.

After looking at this list of delicious sandwiches, you're probably getting hungry! So why don't you drive on down to Sandwich, Illinois and try one of these amazing meals?

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
