10 Reasons Why You Should Travel

The world is such a big and beautiful place. It's important to take advantage of the time we have to explore everything it has to offer. Here's a few reasons why.

10. You'll get a sense of appreciation for different cultures.

Often, we tend to think of our culture as the best one yet. However, there are 196 countries in the world. That means 196 different customs, social dynamics, histories, and traditions that traveling allows us to immerse ourselves in. We become part of a completely different world and learn how to get the most out of life there.

9. You'll expand your food palate.

There's many different types of exotic foods out there to taste and you haven't even experienced half of it. What may be a sweet treat to us may be completely different elsewhere. You can find yourself trying things you've never even heard of and surprise yourself when you discover you enjoy it as well.

8. You can learn a new language.

When traveling, you will be surrounded with people that speak different languages. You'll have to communicate with them, read signs, menus, and directions. Eventually you may start to pick up on different words and before you know it you'll have the basics down like food, bathroom, and "Hi my name is..."

7. Once-in-a-lifetime sights.

We become so used to the world around us that we forget to appreciate the beauty that still exists. When traveling, you'll get to see some of the most beautiful sights you may not see anywhere else.

6. You'll learn life skills you didn't know you had.

Whether it's reaching the top of the mountain, crossing a river, or helping a villager, these things all allow you to bring out a different side you may never knew you had. You may find yourself no longer afraid of heights or those small crawly bugs. Instead you'll push yourself to your limits and face real life tests.

5. It's easier than you think.

By taking the time to find the right locations and prices you can find yourself landing in some of the most beautiful places on earth. There's plenty of websites that can help you find your perfect destination. The rest is up to you.

4. You never have to question "What if?"

There's no time to delay. You'll never have to ask yourself "What if I went on that trip?" or say "I didn't have time." You'll always have the experience of your travel to look back on and appreciate. Tomorrow will be here before you know it and soon you might be too old or sick to travel. Why spend the best days of your life putting off something you want to do until the end?

3. You'll create memories to cherish for life.

You'll be able to recall all the incredible moments on your travels. From watching the sunrise over a mountain to discovering a hidden waterfall. Moments like these can never be forgotten and they're yours forever to hold onto and share.

2. To feel free.

Consider your travel as a way to focus on yourself. Relieve yourself of work, school and any other daily tasks. Break your routine and step out of your comfort zone. You will find yourself enjoying moments of pure and genuine freedom.

1. You'll create meaningful relationships

You will meet many people whether they are also traveling, or native to the country you're in. These people can help you along the way and help create and even better experience. By meeting people you realize that the way you once looked at the world may now be completely different. Each person you meet always brings something new into your life, and no matter what country you're in, or how far the distance is, there's ways for us all to connect and appreciate the beauty the world has to offer.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
