10 Reasons Why You Should Love Minions
iHDwallpapers
  1. They are adorable: I don’t even like the color yellow and I love them. They seem simple like copy and paste on the computer, but if you look closer, all of them are unique in their own way. For example, the cute minion Bob has two different colored eyes.
  2. They’re everywhere: Seriously, you cannot run from them. I see them in my mac and cheese and on Swiffer duster plastic covers. It’s all marketing towards children so their parents buy that brand.
  3. They are kid-friendly: Kids cannot get enough of them. That’s why they are successfully marketed everywhere. And that’s why those products are being purchased and consumed. (Please don’t eat the Swiffer because I said "consumed.")
  4. There have been three movies with them in it already, and with Hollywood these days, we know there will be more. So you might as well give in to the cuteness and enjoy what’s given to you.
  5. They all actually have back stories that are relatable: e.g. the leader with a dream, the immature one who constantly needs help, the one who plays guitar who hits on all of the ladies - I think you could think of three people who fit those personality types.
  6. The story and jokes actually make adults laugh: I know I’m not the only one who intentionally drove myself to the movie theater, bought my own ticket, and enjoyed the movie as someone over the age of thirteen. They are a good escape from everyday life, where there is constantly drama and stress. Going to the movies today, you normally have four choices: the rom com, the action (normally Marvel) film, the kiddie movie, or the horror flick. This movie breaks that mold because it is advertised as a kids movie, but adults want to see it, too.
  7. They speak a mix of languages: I’ve only caught bits and pieces of Spanish and English when they speak, but it makes the characters relatable to everyone even with the language barriers that exist today.
  8. Their emotions are equal to every emoji on your phone: And because of that, you love them and use them as gifs on your social media. Basically, Minions describe my feelings towards others on the internet and help me let out my inner child.
  9. They’re an easy Halloween costume: You know you’ve seen that costume over the past few years and wished you'd thought of something that clever. All you need is a yellow shirt, a pair of denim overalls, and goggles. Simple and you don’t have to sweat like crazy at the party you go to. It can also be an easy group costume: get enough people and look like there is a minion convention in town. Do it!
  10. Everyone else already loves them: from all ages, races, and ethnicities, so it’s time to hop on the minion wagon and feel the love. What’s stopping you?

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
