1. You take showers together.
Well, you don't really shower together in the same shower. You take a shower at the same time so you have someone to talk to while you do your thing. This is also great because when your roomies across the hall walk into the bathroom they instantly know it's you and join in on the conversation. Now you are have a full on conversation while you are naked but we all know you are completely okay with that.
2. You pretty much eat every meal together.
Whether you like to eat alone or not, you never have to! Your roommate is usually with you 24/7 anyway so you always have someone to configure the dinning hall with. Also if you do not want to eat the gross tacos (because they give you diarrhea) in the cafe then you always have someone that will split a pizza with you. We all know that you will finish the whole pie by yourselves.
3. If your roommate is going to sleep, you are going to sleep.
If you are out with friends and causally want to slip the hint to your roommate that you want to go to bed you just yawn a couple times and announce to your friends that you are going to bed. Now because you and your roommate basically can read each others minds she always knows to continue by saying that she is also going to bed too. It just makes nights quieter at the same time and someone to say good night to.
4. If your roommate wakes up early, you wake up early.
Some may play sports or just live and breathe off the phrase "The early bird catches the worm" but either way if they wake up at 5 am so do you! Don't get me wrong I appreciate you trying to be quiet but lets be real, you wake me up every morning.
5. You have the same friend group.
This is the best because you never have have to part when you want to hang out with your friends! You have also learned that without the help of your roommate you would not have any of your amazing friends because you are socially awkward and she is not. It also helps when you know who you guys can and cannot stand, because even though you allow people to cuddle with you in bed their are some people you do not even want in your room at all.
6. You are always told if you smell.
Alright this is the best reason to love your roommate. Everyone may not know that you haven't showered in two days but your roommate does, because she knows everything. She is most likely to be the one to give you a hug and stick her armpit in your face as you slowly die of your wonderful (yet awful) BO! But you love each other even though they smell like garbage when coming back from practice.
7. You have someone that tells you what you look good in and what you don't.
Wearing sweatpants everyday to class is extremely acceptable. But if you really think I would let you go out in an ugly dress you are wrong. The best is helping with make-up and hair because everyone is different and its fun to play with the hair you don't have.
8. Some to always say goodnight/good morning to.
Believe me, rolling over and realizing that your roommate has already left for practice is a sad feeling. But it makes it even more special when they come back to you! The random conversations you have when you turn out the lights are always funny. And you always say good night before you fall asleep.
9. You get sad having to leave each other.
Whether this is for holiday breaks or to see your actual significant other, saying good-bye to each other is just the same heart break. Whether your roommate believes you or not, you do always miss her when you leave her. Also it is hard not to text her 24/7 to tell her detail by detail what has happened during your time apart.
10. Whether you know it or not yet, they are your best friend.
Some people just have a click instantly and it is the best feeling knowing you have someone always by your side that will kick college's ass with!
