10 Reasons Why You Miss Your College Friends

I never thought I'd be missing school this much.

10 Reasons Why You Miss Your College Friends

Now, don't get me wrong, I love being home for the summer. I get to see my family, take a break from school, and see my hometown friends that I've been missing these past few months. However, when you go from seeing certain people all day, every day, to not at all for four months straight - it's really hard.

I knew that I'd miss my friends from college, but I don't think I knew just how much I'd miss our Dunkin runs, spontaneous dance parties, movie nights, fangirling sessions, and our little family dinners. I can think of so many reasons why I miss my friends from college, but here's 10 I think we all can relate to.

1. You miss your constant support system.

I know my friends are still there for me now, but instead of being a phone call away, they used to be just down the hall. Going to college takes a toll on everyone, and when life just gets a little too hard I loved knowing that I had someone to vent to at all times. I'll never forget when I came home from a particularly difficult day of classes and was greeted with food and hugs from my amazing friends. It made my day.

2. Laughing so hard that it hurts over the dumbest things

I can't tell you how much I miss simply sitting around a laptop laughing at pointless videos to the point where we're all crying. Once, I even laughed so hard that I couldn't stop laughing. For several minutes, everyone else was silent, but there I was laughing over something that wasn't even funny to begin with.

3. Constant food runs

Pretty sure that my body is thankful that it's getting a four month break from this, but I know the rest of me isn't. The best feeling is when you make eye contact with your friend and she says those glorious words "Wanna go get Food?" I miss midnight Taco Bell runs with my girls more than I miss Obama....well maybe not that much.

4. WINE NIGHTS

Watching a movie? Add wine. Doing homework? Add wine. Eating? Add wine. Scrolling through Tumblr sharing memes... add wine. Doing nothing? You guessed it - add wine.

5. Theme park adventures

So for me and my friends, our college is really close to several theme parks so we were always on adventures there, but in general, I just miss trying new things and seeing new places with my friends.

6. Staying up late even though you have a 9 am...

We can sleep when we're dead right? I've lost count of how many times I've looked at the clock and realized that it was 3 am and I had spent the last five hours taking dumb Buzzfeed quizzes with my friends, but oh well.

7. Making plans you know you can't afford

No Job? Check. Immense amount of student debt? Check. Making plans to eat at an expensive Disney restaurant? Check.

8. Getting Drunk on a Tuesday

Because....why not? I'd put my favorite memory about these kinds of nights, but I probably shouldn't.

9. Living with your friends = Constant Dance Parties

Now, granted, most of these are started by me, but almost every life event can become a dance party. Especially, if you're a bunch of weirdos who like dancing around at all times. Somehow cooking, studying, and getting ready turns into a dance party whenever i'm with my college friends.

10. THEM

Of all the things I miss about college, I miss these people the most. The people I met in college are people I know will be my friends for life. I love you all dearly.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
