Now that it's March, I know the weather will take it's sweet time to warm up, but I am getting impatient! I can't wait for all the beautiful details about the season that make it the most beautiful time of year! Most people I know prefer the beach days of summer or the beautiful colors of Fall, but here are ten reasons why Spring has always been my favorite time of year!
1. Comfortable Weather
I get to walk outside without the need to gear up in two pairs of socks, winter boots, scarves, gloves, a sweater over six other layers, a winter coat, and ear muffs! And I don't need sunscreen and a spray-bottle fan where ever I go!
2. The Scents!
I am sooo thankful that I don't have allergies! Flowers and mowed grass and newly-sprung fruit! LOVE it!
Living in the country, I love seeing all the cute fuzzy faces start to show up everywhere! Fawns, goslings, foals, kittens - every animal is cute when it's mini!
4. Open Windows
This is why my cats also love Spring - my bedroom gets so much sunlight and warm breezes, it's the felines' go-to hang-out spot all day, every day!
5. Spring Cleaning
There is no better feeling than switching out the clothes in your closet for a season-appropriate wardrobe and dusting and displaying new pictures and getting ready for the incoming season. It's just therapeutic!
6. Hiking
There is no better season to spend a whole day enjoying whole days in Mother Nature with friends and family! (Watch out for ticks!!)
7. Color
Everything is so GREEN! I've heard that the color just naturally makes people happy, but even so, I still just love seeing the mountains ever-so-slowly fade into a richer and brighter hue. The flowers start popping into pinks and purples and yellows and makes everything so pretty!
8. Cherry Blossoms
Gosh darnnit, they only show up on the trees for like, 5 days every year! You can bet I am going to enjoy them before they turn my driveway pink!
9. Longer Days
I love being able to stay outside as long as possible and having my room be bathed in sunlight for as long as possible, so the time change just brings me so much more energy!
10. I am a Spring Baby
As we have seen this year, March is not the beginning of Spring, but the end of Winter. My April birthday month is the herald of the most beautiful time of year, so I am naturally biased!
