There is something about being a girl with guy friends that is so awesome. Guys, although stinky and bad texters, always end being some of the best friends a girl could have. Here are the 10 (biased, but proven through experience) reasons why guy friends are truly the best.

1. They are always up for adventure.

Guy friends are constantly creating nights that involve copious amounts of fun. Whether it’s dressing up as the rock band KISS and bolting off to a karaoke bar or deciding that 11 p.m. is the perfect time for a trip to Shari’s - guy friends always ensure that it will be a night to remember.

2. They are (surprisingly) empathetic.

Sometimes it is as simple as sharing the similar feeling of having a bad day, or it is understanding and sharing bigger problems. When going through a breakup, failing an exam, or even having the worst hangover of your life, guy friends are able to not only understand, but also join in on the turmoil.

3. They are willing to put you in your place.

Boys don’t have time to hear you whine. They only want to solve the problem, so they speed up the process by letting you know exactly how you’re acting.

4. They respect your relationship advice.

Since you’re probably one of the only girls in their life who isn’t their girlfriend, they come to you for advice on love. They respect your opinion, in part because you’re a girl, but also because they know you have their best interests in mind.

5. They love or hate your boyfriend - and have a good reason why.

Guy friends know how to judge another guy. When that guy becomes your boyfriend, guy friends are quick to share their opinion. Whether they love or hate your boyfriend, they are always going to have a good foundation for their opinion.

6. They have a natural inclination to protect you.

Guy friends are like chosen big brothers. They want their best girl friends to be happy and safe. When you get hurt or sick, they do whatever they can to help you feel better (within reason of course; sometimes it's a battle just to have them open the door for you).

7. They tease you - just as much as you tease them.

Guy friends tease you in horrendous ways, but always with the intent to be humorous. When you suggest that your weapon in battle would be the cape that Frodo and Sam use to look like a walk, you can be reassured you’ll be in for some teasing. However, they never push the boundaries, because they know you’re capable of teasing them about the time they asked “Wow, if your thesis was 45 pages how long was your paper?!

8. They ask you to go shopping with them.

Guy friends understand that shopping is a girl’s domain. They’ll go shopping with you and ask for your honest opinion, plus you know they will also be sure to share their own.

9.They have good taste in television, movies, and music.

Guy friends tend to have wonderful taste in television (GAME OF THRONES!!), as well as movies and music. It’s easy to find a song you love because your guy friend won’t stop playing it, or a movie you’d never thought you’d watch, but now you know all the lines because your guy friend only speaks in "Stepbrothers" quotes.

10. They love and appreciate your friendship.

Guy friends know how special you are in their life, just like you know how special they are in yours. Together you build your friendship on mutual respect, appreciation, and admiration for each other.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
