Around this time of year, desperation and mental breakdowns are occurring all over campus. Students everywhere are slowly losing their sanity, and it seems like every professor wants to schedule their tests the last three days before fall break. The final days before any break feel like the most painful, agonizing days possible. This fall is no different. Students have spent countless hours studying, attempting ten-minute naps and destroying our immune systems all semester. There comes a time when even the most put-together student needs a little relaxation. The two favorite words of college students are 'cancelled,' and 'free'–and fall break delivers on both.
There are few things sweeter than getting on the highway on a cool evening and completely forgetting about upcoming assignments or due dates. You drive home knowing that your mom probably has a nice, hot dinner for you and your dog is going to jump all over the place like he hasn't seen you in years. The feeling of being back home is a little strange, but nothing beats sleeping in a queen size bed, actually eating breakfast and having no real responsibilities. It's a nice relief to get away from the stress and busy college life, and just enjoy one-on-one time with your family members and sleep the days away. Although it's a little sad having to leave luxury, you can't wait until the next break to do it all again. We are only a month and half away from Thanksgiving break–we can do this. Here are the ten reasons why fall break is the best:
1. It is the first time you've had real, non-Easy Mac food for months.
You've never appreciated how good real meat really is.
2. You finally get to see your pets.
You can try to pet other people's dogs, but it's just not the same.
3. Living in clean, sanitary conditions.
Finally–a shower not filled with thousands of hairs and shampoo bottles.
4. Not having to walk to class or chapter meetings.
Wait, I don't have to walk two miles in heels??
5. Your parents pay for everything.
"Yeah, you can keep the change."
6. Ignoring grade updates on Canvas.
Sorry, not trying to check my midterm grades right now, just trying to relax.
7. Not getting hit by a bike on the concourse.
#Blessed to be able walk around and not be paranoid.
8. Lying in bed all day long without the fear of responsibilities.
Sleeping in until 2 pm never felt so good.
9. Catching up with friends who are in town.
It's like summer break all over again!
10. Getting to rest and be co-dependent on your family.
Being physically able to get up and pour yourself some juice, but asking your mom anyway.
