If you are anything like me, I am the complete opposite of anything outdoorsy related. I may just be your typical city girl, but having someone who got me out of my comfort zone; enjoying everything there is to love about being in the great outdoors is the coolest thing ever.
1. You try different outdoorsy things that you thought you would never try before
I mean, who would have thought I can bait my own fish without being weirded out? I never fished in my entire life, but I was shown all the different methods to being a good fishermen/fisherwomen. I go on a lot more hikes than I ever thought possible, and I love every minute of it. I was also shown this amazing place filled with love, peacefulness, and adventure (The Land).
2. You go on A LOT of adventures
I love going on adventures and even more so now that I have my guy to do it with. Sometimes we pick the most dangerous places to go explore, but that is what makes it exciting. I would have never even considered going to Devil's Hole or Zoar Valley. (even though we never actually walked through Zoar Valley...sorry babe!)
3. Fishing becomes your new favorite summer activity
Fishing is by far one of my favorite things to do in the summer. It's relaxing but exciting all at the same time. You could cast or troll and sit back and let the reels do it's magic. Because of him, I appreciate fishing a lot more than I did before and since he loves it...I do too!
4. You'll share special moments you couldn't staying inside
We both witnessed a massive shooting star a few years back at his land and it was something I will never forget. Things like that do not happen when you are inside watching TV. Seeing a shooting star, watching the sunset, staring out at the beautiful view, etc. are just some of the special moments you can share together.
5. He will break you out of your comfort zone
Trying new things is always terrifying, but at least you have someone special there to guide you through it. I was always someone who liked staying indoors and who was/is a city girl. Just know, that change is good and it is okay to see things differently than you did before.
6. You will make the most out of your days
Starting in the morning, and ending at night is what makes being outdoors so much fun. You both want as much daylight as possible to go on adventures while enjoying the evening sky afterwards. It is absolutely perfect, trust me.
7. He enjoy the simple things in life
He can look at anything and find it absolutely breathtaking. He does not want to go to a fancy dinner, but instead go for a hike with peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. I am completely okay with that, and eventually you start enjoying the simple things in life too.
8. He will also take into consideration what you like as well
He does not forget about you and what you like to do, and so he will try different things as well. You broke out of your comfort zone, and he will break out of there's. Balance is what makes a happy and healthy relationship
9. You'll get to know more about each other
You both talk about things that happened throughout the day whether you are taking a hike, or exploring a new place you never did before. You talk like couples should be talking and find out different things you may have not known before. It gives you a chance to talk about your lives and catch up with one another
10. He will make you appreciate life so much more
All thanks to my boyfriend, I am more thankful for the life I live and the beauty surrounding it. He taught me how to love life differently and appreciate things, by not taking them for granted.
Shout out for my outdoorsy guy, Ian!!
Thank you for everything, I love you!
