1. She "lets" you borrow their clothes.
My sister does not like it when I borrow her clothes, but she has a great sense of style, her clothes fit me, and I always wash them and put them back where I found them. She may disagree, but that is my story and I'm sticking to it.
2. She lets you borrow money because let's face it, they are better at saving money than you are.
It must be an oldest child thing, but my sister is so responsible, especially with money. I don't buy anything and I'm still poor.
3. She keeps a level head in emergency situations.
Again, I don't know if this is an older sibling thing, but anytime something slightly upsetting happens, I lose it and she goes into problem-solving mode.
4. She can teach you how to do anything.
My sister taught me how to speak french, how to do chemistry, how to solve math equations, and sometimes even about history. I'm not saying I remember any of that stuff, but she is always able to help me with my homework.
5. She is a go-to friend.
I know that no matter what happens, I can call her to rant, grab lunch or for anything. Plus, going on family vacations is always better when you have a buddy with you.
6. You always have someone to run errands with.
Grocery shopping is terrible, putting gas in the car is a drag, and going to the bank makes me want to pull my hair out. On top of all of that, I have to drive to get to all of those places. Having somebody to run around with makes it not only tolerable, but a lot of fun. Plus listening to music and singing terribly in the car is a great past-time.
7. She understands what you are trying to say, even when you don't know what you are trying to say.
It's almost as if my sister and I speak the same language. We even have words for things that don't make sense to anybody else. More importantly, she just gets me.
8. She gives great advice because she has been there.
My sister and I are very close in age, so she is old enough that she gives good advice, but no so old that she doesn't remember standing in my shoes.
9. She likes the same movies and music that you do.
10. She always has your back.
Thanks for always being there, even when I pretended that I wanted to do stuff on my own.
