10 Reasons You Should Visit Norway

This past weekend I had the lovely opportunity of being able to explore Norway. This place is dope for so many reasons, and I believe it to be one of the most underrated destinations in Europe. I definitely wouldn't have put it on my agenda if it wasn't for the cheap flight I had found, but cheap flight or not, Norway is definitely worth a visit. Here is why:

1. You can fly to Norway for as little as £22, which is roughly $33.
You can't fly anywhere in the US for $33, so getting there is a non-issue. I recommend airlines like the lovely RyanAir, but beware of hidden luggage costs.

2. The people are incredibly friendly.
I don't know why, but I had this image of Norwegians being kind of snooty and cold because they are a tall, beautiful people, but that could not be farther from the truth. They are incredibly kind, quick to give you a hand with directions when you inevitably get lost trying to read Norwegian street signs and a very laid back people who typically don't start their day 'til 9 a.m. or later.

3. It's beautiful, like stupidly beautiful.
Whether you are spending the entire weekend in downtown Oslo or journeying to the awe-inspiring Fjords nestled on the west coast, Norway offers a scenic view at every corner.

4. There is great skiing/snowboarding 30 minutes outside of the city.
Visiting Norway in the winter months? Well just hop on the 1 Metro Line for a quick and painless 30 minute ride into the mountains, and hop on a cross-country ski trail or a ski lift and have a nice day on the slopes. Oh, and did I mention you can rent all of your skiing gear for the day for $33 dollars? Yeah, that beats Colorado ski prices any day of the week.

5. There is a 2km sled run you can take for free.
Let me repeat that. THERE IS A 2KM SLED RUN THAT IS FREE TO RIDE ON IF YOU HAVE A SLED. It's super dope, and you can easily take the metro back up to the top and slide down the course all day long.

6. FJORDS.
Fjords I love you, Fjords I do; when we're apart, my heart beats only for you. Google Norway Fjords and cry a little; then book your flight to Norway.

7. Free camping on Norwegian islands.
Are you worried about the added expense of a Norwegian hostel? Well, don't because you can always gather a group of friends and camp on one of the many free campsites in the islands of the Oslo Fjord.

8. The train rides are just as pretty as the sights you will see upon departing them.
The trains in Norway are consistently voted some of the most beautiful and scenic train rides in the world. Don't believe me? Youtube that shit, and you will see.

9. The Northern Lights.
Norway is one of the places where one can behold the beautiful Northern Lights. I suggest viewing them in the arctic region via dogsled because why the hell not?

10. NORWAY IS RAD AS HELL.
Norway is just super awesome. The public transportation is nice. The people are nice. They are blonde like me, which makes me happy. The fashion is cool. The buildings are cool. You always feel safe, and you are guaranteed a good time.

SO JUST GO TO NORWAY, OKAY? OKAY.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
