10 Reasons I Shop At Target and Not Wal-Mart

I am now switching over to the modern-day Target lover!

I am aware that Target is a little more expensive, but that extra dollar an item is worth it! I have a few reasons why I stopped shopping at Wal-Mart and decided to dedicate myself to Target as much as I possibly could! Not to shame Wal-Mart, but Target has definitely been stepping up their game!

1. The People

When I go to Target, I am at least wearing something decent, along with everyone else! No rolls hanging out of shirts, no one smells like B.O, and no crazy-acting people! Every child is contained and every person is calm, there is no one screaming or yelling at their kids.

2. The Products

Yes, Target is a little more expensive, but I feel they have better products! They do not carry t-shirts with "Winnie the Pooh" characters on them and the designs don't make you look like an awkward third grader when you’re actually 25. Target just seems more modern.

3.The Carts

I have never gotten a cart that has some sticky unknown substance on it that not even a Clorox wipe could remove. Also, there is no left over trash in the cart that I have to clean up! All the carts roll perfectly, I never get a loud cart! The best part is people actually say, “Excuse me!” People actually know how to drive the carts and be polite.

4. The Bathrooms

The bathrooms are so clean and always have toilet paper! No more being caught without toilet paper or hand towels!

5. Starbucks!

Every girl's dream is yummy Starbucks coffee as we shop! Also, they have popcorn and ICEEs for kids to snack on and keep them busy from running around like crazy.

6. Cleaner enviroment

Every time I walk into Wal-Mart, there is always a Lunchable in the panty section or Playdough in the cooler with the ice cream. Not to mention dust bunnies, everything is mixed on the shelves, and most of the time, there is a dirty Band-Aid lying around.

7. The Staff

The staff at Target is the nicest I have ever met! They are happy and always willing to help! There is no need to roam the store looking for someone to help, there is always someone around.

8. Checkout Lanes

When it is time to check out at Wal-Mart, there are no lanes open! The self-checkout is always down for maintenance, so I am stuck waiting in a long line. Not at Target! There are always multiple lanes open, and checkout is always speedy!

9. Cartwheel App

Target has an app that will save you up to 50 percent off! This app actually works and has coupons for tons of items with new coupons every day. Way better than going through a newspaper ad and having to price match and clip coupons.

10. Parking

For some reason, the parking lots at Target seem easier, cleaner, and no runaway carts bump into cars! The parking lots are well lit and I feel safe. I also feel confident that I won’t have a ding on my car when I come out of the store.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
