In today's society, many people think that coffee is a necessity in life. They think that they need it to live or otherwise they won't be productive, they won't think straight, or that they just can not function properly. Well this is false. While many people are obsessed with coffee and there are a few health benefits that can come from drinking it, there are many reasons to not drink it. If you are a daily coffee drinker, or just on the fence about it, here are ten reasons why you should stop drinking coffee immediately.

1. Increased Stress Levels

While many people often drink coffee because they are stressed, the caffeine levels in coffee can actually cause an increase in stress levels. So if you are 100% dedicated to coffee and are dead set on never quitting, at least do yourself a favor and drink decaf.

2. Loss of Vitamins and Minerals

People who drink coffee daily are often affected with elevated levels of urination. Coffee drinkers tend to expel important minerals from their body such as magnesium, potassium, and calcium. This can throw off your bodies entire system and sometimes lead to illness.

3. Discomfort

Coffee has high levels of acidity in it. The higher levels of acid found in coffee, can often lead to heart burn and discomfort in the digestive system. Nobody wants that.

4. Financial Savings

As many coffee lovers know, coffee can be rather expensive at times. For example, some people spend $3-4 at Starbucks every day. That may not seem like a whole lot of money for one drink, but in one year's time, that can add up to $1,300 a year... on coffee.

5. Pearly Whites

As many people have noticed, coffee has a tendency to stain teeth. The acidity in coffee is also extremely bad for your mouth. Excess amounts of coffee can break down tooth enamel and ultimately lead to decay...yuck.

6. Weight Gain

Many coffee drinks such as lattes, iced, coffees, mocha's, etc... often have high amounts of sugars and other sweeteners in them. Therefore, most coffee often adds empty and unnecessary calories to our diet that we really do not need. Unless of course you drink your coffee black, which I do not recommend (because GROSS).

7. Lack of Energy

Many coffee lovers are often daily drinkers. They are often "addicted" in a way. While the caffeine in coffee can give the body energy, it reduces the body's natural form of energy. The daily drinking of coffee makes it hard for us to rely on the natural energy source, making us tired or sluggish on the days we do not drink coffee.

8. More Caffeine Risks

I know many coffee lovers are just going to say, "well I'll just drink decaf then," however it is still important to know the health risks of drinking excess amounts of coffee with caffeine. The excess amounts of caffeine can be harmful to a person's liver, and also have a tendency to lead to fertility problems with couples who are trying to become pregnant.

9. Pesticides

While coffee does not actually contain traces of pesticides in it, there is no other plant found that seems to have as high of a toxicity level as it. Some places have even found coffee to be considered deadly to crops and farmers.

10. It's Just Gross

Despite all of the health risks that coffee can present to the body, it is also just gross. Don't strain yourself by drinking the nastiness that is coffee.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
