Yes, I’m one of these people.
It’s safe to say that Taylor Swift has mastered the music industry. She broke records and sold over one million copies of her album, just in the first week of its release date. She is inarguably the biggest pop start to exist on the planet and as of Friday night, received an award and a plaque for having the most sold-out shows (16) ever at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA.
And while yes, I may be a bit biased because I have enjoyed Taylor Swift’s music for quite a few years now, you cannot ignore the fact that this star has become the queen of pop, and a global icon. Here are 10 reasons why you most definitely missed out on the 1989 World Tour if you were not in attendance (BUT STILL CAN GO!):
1. Her wardrobe is unreal.
She is the only person who can wear sparkles in every single one of her outfits and still be dressed like an adult, looking gorgeous even when it’s over 100 degrees. ....And, seriously, it’s a lot of sparkles.
2. She’s singing almost all of her 1989 Deluxe Album and then some.
If you haven’t headed to the 1989 World Tour, I won’t spoil it for you. Although that’s difficult when her face and every breath she takes and move she makes is posted on the Internet… but I digress.

3. Every single fan, no matter where you’re sitting in the arena, gets an LED wristband AND there will be paper planes flying around numerous times throughout the night.
Why not, right?
4. At almost every single show, an A-list celebrity, a Victoria’s Secret model, professional athletes, television stars, and HUGE names walk down the catwalk to be greeted by glittery hugs from Swift.
And she always pauses for about 15 minutes to take a hundred pictures with them where she looks perfect, and they look amazed to be in her presence.
5. Her opening acts are Vance Joy, the “Riptide” artist, and the rising star, Shawn Mendes.
She also signed on her fellow artists and best friends, Haim, to the stage with her for a majority of her shows.
6. She was just named one of the Top 100 Greatest Songwriters of all time.
Go see her own the stage with over 16 original songs, all written by her, each one completely amazing. She even does a few mashups and alternate versions of her previous songs!
7. In July, Taylor reached 5 million copies sold of the 1989 album.
Therefore be respectful of the 5 million other people who purchased the album and go see it done LIVE. Because let’s be honest here, you were one of the 5 million that bought the whole thing within minutes of it’s release date.. right? (Or was that just me?)
8. Did I mention that the Women’s National Soccer Team was on stage with her immediately following their 2015 World Cup Win?
The after-party: In recent tours, Taylor has had the “T-Party” and “Club Red” after the show designed to be a meet and greet for some of her most devoted and loving fans (and this comes at no small price). Continuing with this tradition, Swift came up with “Loft 89.” You get the opportunity to take pictures with, laugh and talk to and most importantly breathe the same air as a global phenomenon who is also completely down to earth and humble about her multi-million dollar tour that she has ignited throughout multiple countries in the world.

10. Taylor Swift was named as one of the Top 100 Most Influential People. She is an icon to singers and songwriters everywhere. Go be influenced.
If none of this was enough to get you completely devastated about the tour you missed, THERE IS STILL TIME. I am quite distraught even thinking about all of the above and realizing I missed it all. The 1989 World Tour has proven to be one of the most inspiring, original, and most out-of-this-world tours to ever sweep the globe. Congrats to you, Taylor Swift. You’re my HERO.
So while this may be my desperate plea for someone to willingly hand me tickets to go see the world's greatest performer and entertainer, I sit here in jealousy and stare longingly at endless pictures wishing I did what millions of smart people have done all over the world; see the music come to life on stage. Until then, I continue to sit and watch the pictures and videos take over the Internet!
(But I'll take the tickets, too).
