If you've seen bath bombs that turn your bath water into a beautiful galaxy sky, they most likely came from LUSH Cosmetics. Over the last couple of years, their popularity has skyrocketed and they have gained some very happy and loyal customers, including myself. Here's why:
1. Their products are all vegetarian.
While you may not personally be vegetarian, using products that are feel awesome -- especially when it's not super obvious that they are.
2. They fight against animal testing.
It has been LUSH's personal mission to fight back against animal testing in the makeup world, and the company has even created something called "The Lush Prize" that gives away £250,000 to promote fighting against animal testing.
3. Their staff is so friendly and helpful.
Every time I've walked into the store, I've been immediately helped and never pressured into buying anything. Everyone who works there acts like they're more than happy to be there.
4. Free samples.
It's so awesome that they do this. If you're ever unsure about a product, the staff are more than happy to give you a sample.
5. Everything is handmade.
This is such a rare quality in products these days, and it's nice to see that it's still around. To know that a person (who is pictured on the product) made, shaped or hand poured your product makes you feel that much closer to the brand.
6. All of their products smell amazing.
You can definitely tell that all products are made from natural ingredients because they all smell incredible. From shampoos to facial cleansers, they will have you feel like you're walking through fields of flowers.
7. Their gift sets are perfection.
I honestly don't think I've seen any other company do gift wrapping as well as LUSH does. They have a large variety of themes for their gifts, and while some are more expensive than others, they're all absolutely adorable.
8. All products are through ethical buying.
All of their ingredients are bought from local or small farmers, and they are all personal connections to LUSH. This is such a great thing for a company to do, because we're all about supporting anything that is local, and or a small business.
9. They do "naked" packaging.
They have shampoo and conditioner in bar form in order to eliminate plastic bottles that just create waste. But when they do have to use packaging for products like shower gels and gift sets, they use only 100 percent recycled materials.
10. They have products that give back.
They have a product called the "Charity Pot," which is hand and body lotion. They started this back in 2007, and since then they have supported over 850 grassroots charities, donating over $10,000,000. Pretty awesome, huh?
