10 Reasons Why Living With Your Best Friend Is The Greatest

After my first roommate left, I decided to move in with a friend from my volleyball team. And, let's just say, it did not go too smoothly at first. But, then something happened. My sophomore year, we became closer and closer and now I get the pleasure of saying I live with my best friend! And man, is it the best! Although I could list more than 10, here are 10 of the best reasons why having your roommate as your best friend is the greatest.

1. You always have someone to talk to.

They will listen to your rants, comfort you when you're crying your eyes out at midnight, and listen to the monotonous things that you had to do that day. They'll even sit through the weird dreams that you just have to tell someone about.

2. You are comfortable enough to say anything to them.

It may be something that they don't want to hear, but they trust your judgement enough to listen. And you have lots of time to talk about it, considering you live together.

3. You know they'll always be truthful with you.

"Does this outfit look bad?" "Do you like the boy I'm talking to?" "I haven't pooped in a day. Do you think that's normal?" Any question. They'll give you an honest answer.

4. They have seen the craziest, weirdest part of you, and still love you.

I'm talking the midnight, sleep-deprived you. And it can't get weirder than that. But you know they'll join you in your crazy shenanigans, no judgement.

5. They basically know everything that's going on in your life.

Good or bad, you have had so many deep talks that they know your past, and they definitely know what's going on presently in your life. Another great thing is that they can sense when something is wrong from 5 miles away.

6. You always have someone to go places with.

And you wouldn't wanna go with anyone else. You know that if you ask, they'll go anywhere with you. Whether it be on a sonic run or to go get something random from Walmart. They'll even go with you to help scrape the snow and ice off your car. Now that's loyalty.

7. They are always up for spontaneous adventures.

"Let's go to the park!" "Hey, I wanna go try out my hammock. You wanna come?" Or even "Hey I feel like going home. You should come with me!" Hey! Adventures with them are the best!

8. Jam sessions in your room are a regular occurrence.

And I mean super regular. Do I really need to elaborate on that? Didn't think so.

9. You know they'll always have your back.

Whether you fail a test, have a bad practice, break up with your boyfriend/girlfriend,or have a death in the family, they're right by your side helping you through it. And you couldn't imagine going through it without them.

10. You wouldn't trade them for the world, and wish you could be roommates forever.

Even the times when they run you nuts, you know you can always count on them. And even when you're off living adult lives, you know they will always be there for you. Because they're your best friend.

So, roommate, all I have to say is thank you. I love you.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
