1. It’s One of the Happiest Places in America
It’s true! According to ABC News, Holland is one of the happiest cities in America! As soon as you visit, you'll understand why.
2. The Beach
No lake is as beautiful as Lake Michigan. Truly, how lucky is Holland to have such a beautiful beach? It’s perfect for swimming during the summer or adventuring in the winter.
3. Tulip Time
Tulip Time is the most delightful week in Holland. The tulips are blooming, the tourists are pouring in, and the carnival food is readily available.
4. Thursday Street Performers
Though only in the summer months, Thursday’s have never been so exciting. Watch a magic show, listen to a ukulele, and decorate your hand with henna all in one night!
5. Windmill Island
Holland is filled with beautiful parks and beaches. Holland State Park, Mt. Pisgah, Centennial Park, and more. Windmill Island is only one of the alluring spaces Holland has to offer.
6. JP’s and LJ’s
Let’s be real: these coffee shops make Holland the place it is.
7. Downtown Holland
Downtown Holland is perfect in every way. Heated sidewalks, a lot of frozen yogurt, and enough clothes stores to make any girl or boy happy.
8. The Farmers Market
My absolute favorite farmer’s market! Whether you’re looking for salsa, a blueberry donut, or a delicious chili dog, Holland’s farmer’s market has it all!
9. Captain Sundaes
A true Holland classic. Even George W. Bush and Mitt Romney had to have a taste of the delicious Tommy Turtle. My personal favorite is the Beach Bum but they're all great.
10. The People
Nothing makes Holland better than the amazing people who live, work, and go to school in the beautiful city. They’re willing to hold doors open and always give a nice smile as they pass by. Nothing makes Hollandia more amazing than them.
