Fall is finally here! (Okay, so it has been here, but let's be honest—the weather in Ohio hasn't really made it seem like it). Some people really seem to hate fall because fall means one thing—cold weather. But there are numerous reasons that fall should be everyone's favorite season, even if it means we have to bring out our coats.
1. We can finally wear those cute sweaters we bought mid-summer. All our favorite stores tend to leave out the cutest clothes for us to buy, even when it is 90 degrees outside. I can't be the only one who is itching to wear my hoodies, jeans, sweaters, and boots! Fall clothing is just the comfiest clothing ever!
2. You're finally allowed to drink hot chocolate, hot coffee, and eat anything pumpkin. You can't tell me that cuddling up with your favorite blanket, watching your favorite Netflix show, and drinking hot cocoa isn't the best thing ever. You just can't do that in the summer!
3. The pictures you can take are breathtaking. The colors of the leaves that are falling and changing not only remind you of your childhood memories of leaf pile jumping, but they are also beautiful. I'm always taking pictures of my campus's trees—fall is proof of how amazing nature is.
4. You can bake again! Baking in the summer was hard because baking always involves heat—blah. But now you can make warm cookies, apple pies, and pumpkin pies, along with your hot cocoa.
5. Thanksgiving! Does this even need an explanation? You get to go home and visit all your loved ones while stuffing your face with delicious food. This is where traditions and family memories are made and where food comas were invented.
6. That wonderful fall smell. The mix of leaves, rain, cold air, and bonfires makes your heart just melt. If you don't love the smell of fall, then we just can't be friends. (But seriously.)
7. It's football season!! As a Buckeye fan, fall is a pretty important time of the year. Yelling at the TV, football parties with all your friends, and watching your team win their games beats doing anything else on Saturdays, Mondays, and Thursdays. The tailgating food is also pretty good, and nothing can ever beat the atmosphere when experiencing the student section of college football games.
8. It's cuddle weather. That's right. It is finally socially acceptable to cuddle all day long with your significant other because it is so cold outside. Staying inside, warm under the covers is the best feeling ever—and you can cuddle with your girlfriend, boyfriend, best friend, or dog.
