10 Reasons I’m Excited to be a Senior in College
Breakthrough Miami

The time has come that I am official a senior and about enter my last year of college. Millions of things have been running through my mind this summer and it’s hard to believe I will be starting my last year and will eventually be on my own. I have to admit, it is quite scary, but I am ready to see where this world takes me. Here is a list of why I am excited to be senior in college and what I’m looking forward to achieve during my final year.

1. I’m finally a SENIOR!

With graduating high school in 2013, I didn’t expect to finally be a senior is college. The years went by extremely fast and I don’t know where the time has gone.

2. Only One More Year Left

I made it this far so why stop now. One's senior year is probably the hardest year a student has to face in college, but it worth it in the end - so don't give up.

3. I Can Finally Say I Have a Degree

With all the hard work I have put into the four years of college - it is pleasant to know that all of my hard work will soon pay off with the reward of a college degree.

4. Closer to Getting My Dream Job

I have always imagined what my dream job would be and know being a senior and being able to come closer to that job is wonderful. It makes college worth the four years.

5. No More Financial Aid

It feels good not to take out anymore money because I’m already in debt with numerous student loans I have to pay.

6. No More General Education Courses

No more science, math, or history. Especially since I’m a Mass Communications major.

7. Focus More on Me

Since it’s my last year I can focus more on my school work and getting out rather than trying to have a great experience. I have had a great experience my three years now and now it’s time to become serious.

8. Networking

Being a college senior means being able to network with others. Not just the people you met in college, but others you find when going different places.

9. I Have Conquered a Milestone in My Life

There are moments in one's life that one will never forget, whether it’s getting a driver's license, receiving your first car or becoming legal – those are moments that will last forever and becoming a college senior and graduating is one of those moments.

10. Figuring Out My Future

I have always thought about my future since I was little and of course it has changed, but now it’s that time and I’m excited to plan my upcoming future.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
