We dreamed of this happening, have been waiting in anticipation and finally our petitions have been answered. "Gilmore Girls" is back. While this is not news to most "Gilmore Girls" fanatics, with each passing week we patiently wait for the date to be announced for the revival. Nine years after the abrupt ending that left all of the viewers hanging, "Gilmore Girls" is coming back, with a rumored release in November of 2016. Now if you're a "Gilmore Girls" fan who is not excited for the revival, it's time to change the way you're looking at life, here are the 10 Reasons to be Excited for the "Gilmore Girls" Revival.
1. Lorelai and Rory Gilmore are mother and daughter goals you tried to force your mother into
Their fast wit and loving relationship was exactly what every girl wanted. It was the perfect combination of friendship with the occasional mom card play that kept their relationship immeasurably real and always fun to watch.
2. The Boyfriends of Rory Gilmore
All of Rory's past boyfriends are returning: Dean, Jess and Logan. Everyone chose sides, everyone had dreams of who Rory would end up with and now, we get to find out! It's time to see Rory found a new man or will be one of the new Huntzbergers.
3. Luke and Lorelai
The end of the seventh season left a major cliffhanger for all of the Luke and Lorelai shippers of the world. It ended with a kiss and then nothing. Nothing. What's going to happen to the lovable inn owner and diner owner?
4. April is back
When April entered as Luke's long lost daughter in season six, everyone Gilmore Girls fan was left emotionally stunned and unprepared. April was not a fan favorite, that's for sure. But now she's back, so the ultimate question is: what role does she have in Luke's life now?
5. Edward Hermann
Unfortunately, Edward Hermann, who played Lorelai's father Richard Gilmore, passed away before the shooting of the revival. With a death in the immediate family it will be interesting to see how the Gilmore clan handles the passing of the patriarch.
6. What exactly is Rory doing now
Rory left Stars Hollow at the end of season seven to follow the campaign of Barrack Obama for an online magazine, nine years later is Rory finally working for The New York Times?
7. Sookie St. James
Originally, Melissa McCarthy, who played Sookie St. James, was not cast in the revival due to conflicting schedules; however, McCarthy was able to shoot scenes and will now play a role in the revival. This means seeing Sookie and Jackson together again with all of their kids!
8. Amy Sherman-Palladino is directing
Every Gilmore Girls fan knows that season seven felt extremely different than the rest of the series due to the exit of the series creator Amy Sherman-Palladino. Not to worry though, she's coming back and better than ever!
9. Kirk
That's pretty self-explanatory.
10. Our return to Stars Hollow
Stars Hollow was not just home to the Gilmore Girls, but also home to all those who watched the series and felt connected to the cast of characters who resided in the fictional town. And although the return is a little later than every fan would like, it's better late than never.
