There are so many people out there who have preconceived ideas about girls who wear makeup. There are others who criticize people for wearing it a different way or even not at all. The rest of us just want everyone out there to know that you aren't the reason we wear makeup. We wear makeup for ourselves and no one else.

I wear makeup to feel good!
Makeup is kind of like nice clothes, but for your face. When you're wearing something you like, something that you think flatters your curves and edges, you feel good in it. It's that simple.
2. I don't wear makeup to get attention from you…
I wear makeup to express myself!
When I don't have makeup on, I feel bland. All of the different moods you can portray with makeup and the way you execute it are actually really interesting. I like that if I'm feeling daring or bold, I can show others that easily through my makeup.
3. I don't wear makeup because I think I'd look bad without it…
I wear makeup because I feel put together with it on!
When I leave for class without at least having mascara on, I don't feel like myself and I don't feel like I'm ready for the day. It's sort of like leaving the house without putting on an essential piece of clothing. It's like being in an interview with two different shoes on. Maybe I wouldn't look bad, but once I realized it, I wouldn't feel prepared.
4. I don't wear makeup to impress a guy…
I wear makeup because I've been playing with it since I was 5!
Seriously, my elementary school years were filled with pretending I was a makeup artist and playing dress up. I can tell you I definitely wasn't trying to impress any boys back when all the makeup shenanigans started, and I'm still not trying to now. If they like what I'm doing, that's okay, but I'm doing it for me.
5. I don't wear makeup to cover up my true self…
I wear makeup to show my personality to those who don't know me!
Everyone likes to people watch. Everyone. There's no use trying to deny it. When you look around, you can tell what people are like just by that first glance. I'm not saying to judge a book by it's cover, but you can definitely get a feel for how that person acts just by what clothes or what shade of lipstick that person is wearing.

What I'm about to tell you is a true story. One day, I went into work without any makeup on. My boss asked me if I was sick. I explained that I was running late and didn't have time to put on makeup. Ten minutes later, my coach walked in and asked me if I was feeling okay. Long story short, I need some eye makeup to make myself seem like I'm awake and healthy. I'm not hiding, I'm just showing the best version of myself.

Just think about all the different things you can do with makeup. People do crazy things with it every Halloween! What people don't know is that even simple makeup can be fun! Sometimes just doing silly makeup is a great way to relieve stress and give you a laugh.

Everyone is beautiful; however, not everyone things they're pretty all the time. Most of the time we forget how amazingly beautiful each and every one of us is. Makeup, sometimes, gives us the little push we need so we can see it again for ourselves.

There's so much you can do with makeup. You can experiment with it. You can use your face, the most natural canvas there is, to make an amazing masterpiece. You get to use your imagination, which honestly doesn't get much use these days. Being creative makes you unique.

I wear makeup because it's a chance to enhance what I love!
Just because I like to look my best, does not, by any means, make me superficial. That's like when you were in high school and said someone was preppy because they were wearing nice clothes. All we're doing by wearing makeup is showing the features that we like best. We're giving the best we can give by feeling we're the best we can be.
Whether you wear makeup or not, you're beautiful. If you don't wear makeup, that's fine! If you do wear makeup, keep doing your thing! Don't wear it just because everyone else does. Be yourself! Wear it because you want to!
