10 Reasons Why Dogs Are Better Than Boys

Because no one needs a boyfriend, but everyone should have a dog.

1. No one is happier to see you when you get home.

Somehow, my dog knows that I'm coming home before I even get there. My mom will call me as I'm entering my hometown and tell me that my dog has been barking at the door for fifteen minutes. I can't even be mad about the scratch marks all over my legs or the fact that he almost trips me the entire walk from my front door because he's the most adorable thing in the whole world. I won't even get into how sad it is to leave them again.

2. They don't ask questions.

When you're upset or angry or heartbroken, they're right by your side. They'll be right there to lick all your tears away. When I was dealing with my first heartbreak, I swear to God my dog could sense it. When I was grieving, my dog was at the foot of my bed for days because I couldn't gain the strength to leave it. There's a reason that therapy dogs exist.

3. They're loyal.

I'm not saying every boy out there isn't loyal, but every boy definitely isn't loyal. If that makes sense. You don't have to question whether or not your dog is loyal. Because they definitely are.

4. They won't judge you when you eat an entire pound of pasta at midnight.

They'll just sit with their head on your lap, under the table, waiting for you to give them some as well. And if you don't because you really want to eat an entire pound of pasta, they won't be mad at you for it. But you probably will share. Because they're adorable and you can't say no.

5. They won't judge you, at all.

Dogs don't care if you're feeling a little moody today. Dog's don't care that you're bloated. Dogs don't care if you haven't showered in a week. And dogs definitely don't care if you go out with your friends. They just care that you love them as much as possible when you come home. Refer to #1.

6. They don't ask for much.

Really all they want is love and the occasional Beggin' Strip. And maybe some quality time. So let your dog in your room when he/she wants to hangout with you. They don't have forever.

7. They're cuddly.

They're always down to cuddle, for the most part. And even if they take up the whole bed, you can't help but accept your little corner and admire how cute they look when they sleep. Literally. Precious.

8. They love you unconditionally.

As Lady Gaga once said, your dog won't wake up one morning and say that it doesn't love you anymore. Or was she talking about jobs? Was it even Lady Gaga? Literally who knows.

9. They put you first.

Do you know how many god damn touching ass videos I've seen on Facebook of dogs LITERALLY risking it all for their owner? Their whole life revolves around you. They'd do anything for you. Can you say that about a stupid boy?!?! No.

10. Literally every dog is a 10.

Even the ugliest dogs are cute as hell- admit it. Even the ones that look like towels on the ground- adorable. We both know that every time you pass a random dog on the street it's like Christmas came early. And if their owner lets you pet them, it's a whole other ballgame.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
