Girls love dogs. Any cute pup will cause instant swooning and baby talk. Dogs can lift spirits and make any bad day better, while boys can have the opposite effect. Here are the top five (of a million) reasons why dogs are better than boys:

1. Dogs are loyal.

You don’t have to worry about your pup texting girls behind your back or flirting with the cute new neighbor or still talking to their ex.

2. Dogs are always excited to see you.

Whether it’s been two minutes or two days, dogs always act like seeing you is the best thing in the entire universe, because to them, it is. Boys, on the other hand, do not jump up and down when they see you, which is pretty disappointing. They’re probably trying to maintain their cool rep or something, but a little excitement would be nice.

3. Dogs never cancel plans.

With a boyfriend, you may get pushed aside for his bros, the gym or even video games. *Eye-roll*

4. Dogs don’t care if you've shaved your legs or not.

Boys somehow expect girls to be smooth as a baby’s butt all the time. Do they know how much surface area that is? How much time and effort that takes? And then they have the nerve to comment about prickly legs. Luckily, dogs accept us, even in our hairy-legged glory.

5. Pups are irresistible.

In the slight chance that your doggie makes you angry, it is impossible to stay mad at them because of how cute they are. However, it is harder to forgive boys, because they tend to do idiotic things constantly. And I mean constantly.

6. Dogs never tell you no.

They are down with whatever you want to do because they just want to spend time with you.

7. All your friends love your dog.

But that’s not always the case with your long streak of questionable boyfriends.

8. Dogs don’t complain about watching chick flicks.

You want to watch "Mean Girls" for the 15th time? That's fine. Your loyal K-9 will happily cuddle up next to you and watch Regina George personally victimize everyone. A boyfriend, however, will be less enthusiastic about your choice in movie, and probably complain the whole time too.

9. Dogs make the perfect date for any occasion.

Whether it is a road trip or a trip to the beach, dogs make the perfect company, and you don't have to worry about them embarrassing you.

10. Dogs are just way cuter. This really speaks for itself.

In summary, dogs rule and boys drool.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
