Beyoncé was onto something with her hit song, the anthem for single girls everywhere.
While having a boyfriend is great in its own ways, there are so many reasons why being single rocks. Here are a few...
1. If you want to lie in bed all day in your pajamas and binge watch Hannah Montana reruns on Netflix, you can. If you’re single, you have all your time to yourself to do whatever you want to do. You have alone time to spend with yourself and your own thoughts.
2. You don’t have to shave your legs as often. If no one’s going to be touching your legs, why bother shaving? This is arguably one of the best parts about not having a boyfriend.
3. If you’re single, you don’t have to try and divide your time between your friends and your boyfriend. You won’t feel guilty for ditching one party to hang out with the other.
4. You get to text, Snapchat and talk to as many boys as you want to without a boyfriend getting upset. You can also go on dates with as many guys as you want (or just stay single forever).
5. You don’t get dragged to see movies like TMNT, Guardians of the Galaxy, The Expendables, etc. Instead, you can just see chick flicks every. Single. Time. With no one complaining next to you the whole time.
6. This is probably the other best part about being single. Without a boyfriend, you aren't faced with the dilemma of figuring out presents. Whether it’s a birthday, Christmas, graduation or an anniversary, and no matter how long you’ve been together, no woman can deny the difficulty in gift-buying for men. They are simply too hard to shop for, no matter how well you know them. Also, instead of spending all your money on dumb presents, you get to spend it all on yourself or your friends.
7. When you’re single, you have complete and total freedom. You can wear whatever you want, stay out as late as you want, hang out with whoever you want and you don’t have to check in with anyone ever (except for maybe your mom sometimes).
8. You don’t have to deal with awkward and uncomfortable get-togethers with his family. No one enjoys the bland conversations or forced smiles and laughs.
9. If all your friends are single too, you’re all in the same boat. There are no guys to ruin girls’ nights or steal away your friends, and you’re all free to do whatever you want.
10. When you’re single, you learn to do things for yourself (whether you want to or not). These new skills include killing bugs, car maintenance and using tools and building things.
