You may not have thought about it much, but 2008 was one of the greatest years. Sure, the economy crashed. Yet, there was so much more going on that made it amazing. Here are 10 reasons why 2008 was so fantastic:

1. The Jonas Brothers were at the height of their fame.

You are LYING if you say that you didn't appreciate the Jonas Brothers at some point in your life. 2008 marked the release of their hit sophomore album, A Little Bit Longer. The album was full of what are by now all time classics, including their number one hit, "Burnin' Up."

2. Twilight was released.

Whether you were a die hard fan or hated the series with your entire being, you have to admit that Twilight had an effect on everyone. Anyone and everyone was impacted by the films. People had something to both obsess over and mock. Plus, it brought Taylor Lautner and his abs into the spotlight.

3. The High School Musical franchise released the third and final film.

High School Musical 3 was the ending to a series that molded a generation. We fell in love with Troy. We wanted to be Gabriella. Most importantly, most of us could probably do a full sing and dance along to the movies. It was the perfect ending.

4. Britney Spears makes her comeback.

After her intense 2007 breakdown, Britney Spears recovered and released Circus at the end of 2008. We all knew she would continue making hits, and she didn't disappoint.

5. The Beijing Olympics.

The United States set several records at the Beijing Summer Olympics. Most notably, Michael Phelps stunned us all (no surprise) and won 8 gold medals, setting a world record.

6. Heath Ledger stunned audiences playing The Joker in The Dark Knight.

Even though 2008 marked the untimely passing of the actor, Heath Ledger's performance set the standard for all Jokers to come. The movie was an instant success, and is still a favorite for many.

7. Everyone had a new jam when Single Ladies was released.

Once again, Beyonce rocked the world by releasing what might be her most well-known song. 2008 was the year everyone was inspired to put a ring on it.

8. Breaking Bad, Sons of Anarchy, and several other popular television shows went on air.

So many popular television shows were released in 2008. They set the stage for the future of binge watching on Netflix.

From TV shows to the JoBros, 2008 was a year to remember!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
