5 Best Quotes from Coach Bielema at SEC Media Days
The Red & Black

SEC Media Days mark the first of the media frenzy to kick off the upcoming football season. The media days are meant for the media and fans to learn more about how the upcoming SEC football season may shake out, but they are also meant to squeeze some funny quotes, stories, and one-liners out of the head SEC ball coaches we each hold near and dear to our hearts. These are the top five best things my favorite head coach had to say at the 2016 SEC Media Days, Coach Bret Bielema because there is always something funny to be said by Coach B.

1. "I understand the Michigan-Notre Dame thing sounds sexy to everybody else, but I think Michigan and Arkansas sounds sexy."

This quote came in reference to Michigan canceling the SEC-Big 10 match up they had scheduled with Arkansas in the 2018 and 2019 seasons. I'd have to agree with Coach B on this one, a Michigan versus Arkansas, Big 10 versus SEC matchup would have been a sexy event filled with Harbaugh khaki pants and a lot of hog calling. Oh well, we didn't want a bunch of 'northerners' in Fayetteville anyway. Also, I imagine this was close to Coach B's reaction when he got the news.

2. "At Arkansas, we're not built very sexy, we're just kind of a work in progress. We need a lot of time in the bathroom to get ready and come out and look great. But when we do, we'll stop time."

Man Coach Bielema's word throughout media days must have been 'sexy'. But again he hit it right on the nose. We're not built sexy, let's be real, no one is. We all take way too much time in the bathroom, it isn't just us hogs in Arkansas.

3. "That's when I believe divine intervention did happen. I'm a believer."

A quote in reference to the play with many names... 'the fourth and lateral', 'the fourth and 25', 'the fourth and miracle', or as I like to call it 'the play we beat 18th ranked Ole Miss at Ole Miss'. We, along with Coach B know that play was a miracle. A miracle that will go down in Arkansas football history, thank you, Hunter Henry.

4. "First and foremost, if you're not invited to (a proposed junior class NFL scouting combine), if you even think about coming out, you're a moron."

I'd have to 100 percent agree with this Coach Bielema quote about college players leaving school early for the NFL. If you aren't top notch, stellar, or fantastic in college, you can't expect to be drafted high in the NFL Draft. Stay in school college players Coach B and hog fans everyone needs you stay.

5. "When you come across an Arkansas fan, they let you know it. They let you know it in a variety of different ways, yelling Pig Sooie or Woo Pig, a bump, interference that cuts you off in traffic, whatever it is, you know who they are, why they are there and what they love."

The best thing I have to say about this quote is damn straight and WOO PIG SOOIE.

Thank you, Coach Bielema, for being more than just Arkansas's head football coach, but also a thorough source of great commentary and witty comments about SEC football. Long live head Coach Bret Bielema.

5 Things To Do That Are Better Than Writing A Paper

Don't waste your time trying to write that paper when there are so many more interesting things you could be doing.

Writing a paper is never fun and is rarely rewarding. The writer's block, the page requirement, be specific, but don’t summarize, make sure you fixed any grammatical errors, did you even use spellcheck? and analyze, analyze, analyze.

Papers can be a major pain. They take up so much time and effort that by the end of the process you hate yourself and you hate the professor for making life so difficult. Questions of your existence start roaming in your mind. Am I even cut out for college if I can’t write a single paper? Am I even capable of taking care of myself if I lack the energy to open my laptop and start typing?

Who could be a better friend than your own sister?

I can barely remember back when I was the only child. Most would say it’s because it is extremely difficult to remember things as a toddler but I would say it's because I was bored until my sister came along. My mother always says how important the "sister bond" is and with every year that passes I realize how right she is. Instead of writing a novel about all of the wonderful things there are about having a sister I decided to list a few of them instead.

It is the time of our lives that we are beginning to enter the adult world and most of us, if not all of us, have no idea what we are doing. It's like starting a video game, but skipping the tutorial. We're all just running around aimlessly hoping we accidentally do something right that moves us along the right path. Now that graduation has just happened, or is right around the corner for some of us, it's time to start thinking about how we are going to take care of ourselves once we are on our own.

If you’re anything like me, you love a good cup of coffee. My coffee always comes from Starbucks; I refuse to drink it from anywhere else. Over the years, it’s become one of my biggest addictions. College involves a whirlwind of emotions, whether it’s from the stress of an assignment (or twenty), or from fighting with your roommate. It can be overwhelming at times and it’s important to take a step a back and calmly think things over. Maybe gain some perspective. The following aren’t foolproof tips and may not apply to you, but I was able to find success with them (hope you do too!)
