Being sassy is a full-time job. Most of the time I feel like I'm just a sassy girl living in a world unappreciative of my wit and awesomeness. And I have talked to other kindred spirits who have struggled with being too sassy for the everyday human. So, I decided, to put together a list of the top problems you could face as a wonderfully sassy human being.
1. You have to deal with a lot of awkward pauses.
*Insert sassy comment that you're incredibly proud of* and no one responds... like OK guys I get it I'll just go hide in a cave now and never come out again.
2. And a lot of strange looks.
4. But when you play it with the wrong people... you're awesomeness is lost on them.
The worst is when you have the PERFECT card, but the person judging doesn't get sarcasm. Like really it's so funny.
5. Accidentally offending someone.
People always take you too seriously.
6. Desperately trying to find someone who can keep up with you.
You're best friend or significant other has to be someone who can keep up with your witty remarks and bits. Otherwise, how would you ever communicate?
7. No one gets humor is your coping mechanism.
You make jokes about all your troubles. You laugh and people tilt their heads and go "aw" and you want to shake them and tell them it's okay because it's funny. It has to be funny because if it isn't funny you should probably start crying now.
8. People think you're always angry or have a bad attitude.
Yes, I vent a lot and tell a lot of stories in a sassy manner. But that does NOT mean I'm always angry. Furthermore, yes I'm sassy but I'm HILARIOUS. It isn't that I'm a negative person, I just find the humor in the mundane everyday life.
9. Once you start the sass you just can't stop and so the bit just keeps on going.
I literally tell myself this once a day. Once I start on a sarcastic bit I can't stop. I get on a roll and I know people are confused or bored, but I just can't stop myself. I know it's awkward, but no one else is saying anything so that leaves me to just ramble.
10. Conversing with the average, boring, non-sassy human.
Having to converse with people who aren't sassy is the bane of my existence. A conversation without sass or wit is a very dull one.
So I hope this has helped anyone else struggling with a sassy attitude in this grey world we live in; don't worry you're not alone. And don't let anyone stop you from being clever. It's a good trait, it has to be. I have it, after all.
