The average height for a female is 5-feet-4-inches, according to the National Bureau of Economic Research. According to me, however, you are not truly tall until you have experienced these daily struggles. 

1. "How tall are you?"

Oh, this question. Only four words, but so much meaning. Every time I am asked that, I can't help but wonder, "Why?" What is me telling you my height going to help you understand? I AM TALL! 

2. The "Sorority Squat"

More like the "Sorority Struggle." In order for a tall girl to be at everyone else's level, she must not only squat down, but also nearly pull a hamstring attempting to get so low to the ground.

3. Being Compared to Outrageous Things

Statues, trees, giraffes and men. Just because you are tall, it does not automatically make you a part of the tree or statue family. 

4. Finding a Date to Formals

Sure this seems like a problem for every sorority girl, but it is not. Not only do tall girls have to find someone who is just a half-bit decent looking, but he has to be taller than us WITH heels on. 

5. "Do you play sports?" 

I understand, this question is quite tempting to ask. BUT a girl can be tall and not athletic. I promise, it's possible.

6. Pants Shopping

Shopping for a good pair of jeans is hard for anyone, but especially for a tall girl. Having pants that fit every inch of your body while still going past your ankles is dang near impossible.

7. Being Left Out of Girl Talk in Tigerland

Imagine this: It's a busy night at Reggie's. Packed with cute boys and the delicious smell of alcohol and urine. All your girls have huddled together to talk about that girl you all can't stand who's dancing on the stage to "Blank Space" by Taylor Swift. All of the girls are talking face to face, and then there's you. Poking out like a weed amongst a field of grass.

8. Crop Tops

Hands down one of the best and worst clothing items made for a girl. They will either show off that body you've been working for all winter, or reveal the hibernating you've been doing. Nonetheless, finding a crop top that doesn't give the impression that you stole it from your 2-year-old baby cousin is hard to do for a tall girl.

9. Being Asked to Go to the Back

Yes, I'm tall and may block the other girls in a photo, but I shouldn't be punished! So what if you can only see me? I don't see the problem here, folks. 

10. Being Above Average in EVERYTHING

Being "tall" or above the average height is a beautiful thing. You stand out quite literally. Now for us tall girls , this is not a problem. For the other girls however...

They will just have to get on our level. ;)
