Biography

It's been 20 years since Princess Diana's death; August, 30th 1997.

Of course, I was only a year old when this tragic event happen and up until a few years ago, I had no idea who she was. But after reading countless books and articles, looking at pictures, and watching an abundance of interviews and shows, I've come quite familiar with who "The People's Princess" was. What an amazing person taken so suddenly, it kind of makes me wonder what the world would be like if she was still here.

Nonetheless, I started my senior year of college a few weeks ago and in Princess Diana's honor, here are 10 GIF's that explains every college senior's year.

1. Starting the last-first day of college

It's sort of like senior year of high school because you walk on campus like you own the place because finally, it's your last year and you're about to face the world head on! Smile and own it, everyone wants to be you.

2. Seeing friends after all summer

It's been MONTHS, so the reunion is this dramatic! Hug me until I can't breathe.

3. Reading the syllabus

Go to college they said, it will be fun they said... We're dying inside. We're all giving the professor the evil eye but still trying to act like you want to learn something & also debating if your major was the right choice after all.

4. Doing your first assignment of the year

It's a little surprising trying to figure out what you're supposed to do and how to do it. Your brain isn't working just yet. First assignment in and you're pretty much over the whole college thing. *for the millionth time*

5. Forever trying to make it to class on time

Or at all for that matter. There's something about the fourth year of college that makes you lose all track of time. But when you do make it to class, you're deemed a real winner when you walk in with your coffee, since that's where you really were 5 minutes before class.

6. How we feel trying to pull all-nighters

A little tired, a little delusional, but still willing to work because we've come so far to quit. We're still going to keep it together long enough to submit the assignment but until then, this is a great representation.

7. Trying to get though finals week

We're all masters at the eye roll. We're all ready to give up because it's just too much. Yes, we made it this far but scratch #6 because we just can't do it anymore.

8. Trying not to have mental break down.

Keep smiling because it's supposed to release good endorphins... Even if it's fake, it helps just a little.

9. Submitting your last paper

9 year-old Lady Diana Spencer is all of us when submitting our last paper... EVER!

10. FINALLY graduating

At the end of the day, we all realize that we did in fact actually learn something. Graduating just kind of puts it all into perspective and what a privilege it was to be educated in something that will transform our lives forever.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
